Two, I Think.

My first earthquake was a rather big one that occurred in the California Bay Area in 1989. I was probably a year old. The house started shaking and my mom rushed into my room, took me out of my crib, and held me under the doorframe while I fought to get down. My dad was commuting from work in San Francisco- that was where it hit the worst, but he was fortunately unharmed.
The second time, it could hardly be called an earthquake. While on honeymoon in Hawai'i, my husband and I were sitting on the floor of our condo playing cards when we both felt a rumble. It lasted less than a second, but it was noticeable.

How funny I think I know both earth quakes your talking about I was in the 89 one and was in perschool in Daly City and the hawaii one (if your talking about October 2 years ago) I was on my way back to Maui (where I moved to) and my fight was turned around mid flight on the way to Maui it returned us to sfo where my 2 week stay turned into a 3 week stay lol

I have yet to see a big earthquake (that I can remember that is), and am waiting for it to happen. SF Bay Area is overdue for a big one.
