I Could See the Keys.

Back in 2000,  we had to have extensive repairs to the rear of our house, lasting for six weeks and finally finishing on 8th December, when the painter was in.

I had an appointment booked  that morning - to have a tattoo on my right upper arm.

I asked the painter when he expected to finish and he said he'd be here till at least four in the afternoon.

Knowing I'd be home by midday, I didn't take the spare keys.......

I got home just before midday, to find the house locked up, the painter's van gone.

Looking through the letterbox, I could see my main keys lying on the mat, the painter having pushed them through the letterbox.

To cut a long story short, I had to borrow a chair from my neighbour, climb up to the open top section of the kitchen window and spent nearly an hour trying to scoop up the key to open the side window with the aid of a garden trowel!

I could see the spare keys hanging on thier hook and my dog was going mad in the house!

I finally managed to secure the window key, reached in through the top opening, opened the side window and clambered in over the draining board!

It did nothing for the fresh, stll bleeding tattoo on my arm!
