Now And Again, Again

When I was 5, due to my long hair, I was nicknamed 'Little Tonia', after my older sister. Everyone said I looked exactly like her, my sisters mini-me. I was teased so much about it, that by the time I was in 5th grade, I was begging my dad to cut my hair, which he did...(Although, my mom wasnt happy about it).

Then when I was 7 ish, I think. I had come home from a half day of school and took up my normal possition on the flor in front of the Cabinate TV in the living room. Half way through my favorite show, the phone rang. Turns out that it was a guy trying to have phone sex with little girls, long before the thought of caller ID. He explained how and where to touch myslef, but I told him I couldnt do that. When he asked my why not, I told him I was a boy, and laghed myself silly. I'm sure he felt kinda stupid because he hung up before I could finish cracking up. I was to young to consider the ramifications then, I didnt know what to do but go back to watching my cartoons. No one was home at the time and I lived ina rural area.

You figure you outgrow things but instead of ending there, its happened a few times, the latest being a few weeks ago that I got a call from a telemarketer, to which after politely turning down their offer, was given a thank you Ma'am before they hung up. Now I know my voice isnt that soft or maybe I'm just in denial, I'll be turning 40 this year.

Great story about Little Tonia.

Looking back at it now, how do you feel about it?

You've just reminded me. I used to be confused with a female cousin at college. Only from behind though. We had identical hair, colour, style, length, everything. She hated it so much that she had hers cut short and dyed blond.
