Mugged And Assaulted In Sanfran

This happened about a week ago. I was in San Francisco on vacation with my friends. We all pitched in for a hotel room in the Tenderloin district. I split up from my friends to go to the store across the street from our hotel room. Looking back it was a bad idea to split up from my friends but being from Portland, OR I've always felt safe. I was approached by a dirty black man. He said he had a gun and pulled me into an alley. The next thing I remember is waking up in the alley with empty pockets, a hurt jaw, and a hurt head. He had punched me in my jaw, knocked me out, and took everything in my pockets, which included an iPhone and my wallet. He also evidently peed on me when I was out cold. I was able to go into a store nearby and call my friend from a the phone in there. He came and picked me up and took me back to the hotel room. My jaw still hurts but I'm thankful something worse didn't happen. Lesson learned to not walk alone late at night in an area like the tenderloin. Also my idea of humanity has dropped significantly since this incident.

Hey Hass1983,

I was mugged a couple years ago by three individuals. The choked me from behind but didn't assault me. They took everything from me but the cops were close and we actually ended up catching them.

I live in Toronto, Ontario.

I just want to say how sorry I am that something like this happened to you. I know all too well how this can kill your faith in humanity, as mine significantly dropped as well. It really sucks how these few people can effect us, but the truth is that it's not easy to put behind us.

Today I was walking home from a friends house around 12 midnight and this tall black man was eyeing me down. It was obvious that he was following me, and I went up to a car at a red light and asked for help. He didn't let me in, but it caused enough separation for me to run away safely and hide in a backyard.

I am still shaking as I write this. There is no quick fix, but talking to other people definitely helps me. I'm glad people post their experiences on here so I don't feel so alone.

I hope heal up fast from your injuries, and I hope even more that your faith in humanity is slowly restored. The world is full of tons of amazing people, but the few bad ones cast a very big dark shadow.

Welcome to the bay. My mom just got assaulted today in oakland on her way to the airport. she decided to walk part of the way from bart instead of taking the cab all the way there. some guy (a crackhead) tried to jack her... Sorry to hear about your experience, your not the only one. One person can ruin a whole experience.
