Infatuation...How Painful!

I recently became infatuated with someone two years younger than me.  Unlike most people, I knew it was infatuation at once, since I'd never even talked to him and I'd read enough to realize it.  However, this doesn't make it any easier.  I want to talk to him to see how his personality is, but in High School, a Junior approaching a Freshman would just seem weird.  Besides, I'm a shy person.  I can't help thinking about him, even though it hurts, in a bittersweet way. I feel as though I'll never get over him!  By the way, this is my very first crush! Also, I'm a guy and he's a guy, so, you know, kinda awkward.  He's probably not even gay.  I don't act like a girl though, I don't like it when guys do that, it gets annoying. Pls comment by the way!  I'd love feedback!

    That would be tough in highschool. Age thing and alternative life style. Well more mainstream nowadays .. I commend your sharing and wish u well.

    Awww, that sucks. Infatuation can sometimes turn into something...But i know what you mean. I once crushed on some guy in high school. I knew I wasn't into him in any meaningful way. It was just a crush. I'd say steer clear unless you want to try and be friends. Or you could have a female friend (that can be careful not to give anything away) find out for you if he's gay, or more about him and what he's like. That way you can satisfy some curiosity, and maybe get a few more clues to know if it's only a crush, or a crush which could turn into something (there's two kinds of crushes, after all. And they at first feel about the same.)



    the rules of highschool (like not talking to freshmen) are something I never figured out. I'd rather do my own thing, but people can be brutal so...I don't have much advice to offer on that part, sorry. =( Might also depend on how "out" you are, and how liberal your school is, etc anyways, I'd play it safe and keep it to myself. Especially since you're shy. Maybe try to find someone else to crush on that i know is gay, etc That can help. Or just ride it out and enjoy it in it's own bittersweet way. first crushes are always the hardest. After awhile you get used to it and handle it better. But no matter what you do, good luck!
