Paddled For Fighting A Bully

Last night I was reminiscing with some old friends and one of my old friends reminded me of something that happened to me in the 6th grade. Our 6th grade teacher was Mrs. Johnson she was the teacher that was assigned to the trouble makers. In the 5th grade I got in trouble several times for different offenses. So for the 6th grade I was enrolled in Mrs. Johnson's class.My first week in her class I immediately started having problems with a girl named Lynn. She was a bully and she knew how to fight. The girls along with most of the boys were afraid of her. During recess another boy and I were bouncing a large rubber ball back and forth. Lynn stepped in front of me as the ball was coming back to me and caught it and walked off with it. I yelled at her to give it back to me. She said no it was her ball and if I wanted it I need to take it from her. I asked for it back a couple more times and she started to mock me.That was when I lost my temper and punched her in the stomach. She jumped up and punched me in the side of the face. Just as I got ready to punch her back Mrs. Johnson came out of nowhere and grabbed me by my arm and she grabbed Lynn by the arm with her other arm. She told us the penalty for fighting was 10 swats. I had been paddled before and was not too terrified about being paddled. But the most I had ever received at that time was 5 swats and they were from my 5th grade teacher Mrs. Alger who didn't hit real hard. Mrs. Johnson was known throughout the school as being a hard hitter. When the principal had an unruly girl to deal with he would get Mrs. Johnson to do the paddling and if he was absent she would administer paddlings in his absence. She marched Lynn and I into the school. I started to get nervous because I had seen her paddling students out in the hallway before and heard how loud that paddle would crack when it struck the butt. Lynn and I waited in the hallway for 5 minutes while Mrs. Johnson got her paddle and the small chair that you had to bend over to be paddled. When she came back she said since Lynn started the fight I had the choice of who goes first. I remember looking at that large paddle of hers and counting 10 holes the size of 50 cent pieces in it. I looked up and said that Lynn should go first. Mrs. Johnson told Lynn to bend over the chair. Lynn started to protest and Mrs. Johnson said in a firm voice to bend over or she would get the principal to bend her over and her down. Lynn bent over the chair very slowly. Mrs. Johnson told her to lift her skirt up ( this was in the 70's almost all girls wore skirts then and this is the way girls got paddled back then). and she told her to move her legs apart. .Lynn was wearing red tights and white panties underneath. I had never seen anything like this before up close. Lynn was instructed to keep her head down hold on to the chair and hold her butt out. I remember Mrs. Johnson taking aim and waiting a few seconds and then pow the paddle exploded across Lynn's butt. Lynn moaned a little bit but kept her composure. About 5 seconds later the second swat smacked across her butt. I couldn't believe how hard that paddle sounded as it impacted her butt. By the third swat Lynn was crying and moving about. By the fifth swat I could actually see parts of her butt were red. Lynn was having a hard time staying still. Mrs. Johnson told her she was going to receive "penalty swats"if she didn't hold still. The seventh swat landed and Lynn jumped up rubbing her butt and crying so hard that tears were running down her face. Two penalty swats Mrs. Johnson announced. Lynn bent back over and took 3 more swats. Mrs.Johnson was taking between 5 to 10 seconds between swats. She wasn't hitting just across the center of the butt she was hitting across the bottom part as well. (the sit spot). The 2 penalty swats were across the back of the legs. One across each leg. Lynn had to stand on her toes holding on to the bottom part of the chair. When my turn came I was so scared I was frozen in fear. I bent over the chair and took the first four without moving (I had on corduroy pants). The 5th swat made my feet come up a little as it hit the bottom part of my butt. It really hurt. I remember whimpering and tears running down my face. But I was afraid of getting hit across the back of the legs so I stayed in position. Mrs. Johnson was delivering a swat once every 5 to 10 seconds. She was hitting me harder than she hit Lynn.I remember after the eighth swat jumping up. But I was quick to bend back over and take the last two. That was my first paddling from Mrs. Johnson and at that moment it was the hardest I had ever been paddled. I received numerous paddlings from her that year. She was strict and she had a zero tolerance policy for nonsense. This is a true story.

That's a great letter,and I can relate all too well from attending Public schools in the 80's in my childhood years. At my school they used to paddle every morning,during first period and usually there'd be 15 to 20 boys and girls called to the office,and one of the secretaries would call our parents and let them know,and get permission (if we didn't agree) and the other secretary would go in with the principal,and then start calling us back,one right after the other for 3,5, or 10 licks with the wooden paddle (a shaven-down baseball bat style paddle)and we'd all be real quiet and listen after the door was closed,and we'd soon begin to hear the loud smacks over and over,and the boys or girls crying out from the stinging pain,because the principal liked to give the licks really hard,and it would make me always get an erection from listening to the very loud smacking sounds of the paddle being used again and again,and one other thing that really turned me on was some of the little girls would get so scared that they'd wet themselves and on the chairs,and so the office always stayed smelling almost like a hamper full of wet pee-pee diapers,and it was really strong because there was no a/c in those days in public schools,so between the sweltering heat and all the different little girls wetting on the chairs everyday,you could always smell that unmistakable,ammonia-like odor that's produced from smelly wet pee-pee,because it was really strong and noticeable whenever you'd enter the office,and some of the students would laugh about it, or complain about the office smelling all pee wet,but I never said anything,because I'd never been anywhere and smelled the odor of wet pee that strong,and just being in there smelling the pee odor and hearing the loud smacking sounds of the paddle being used over and over,again and again,would turn me on like nothing had ever turned me on so much in my whole life,and even until this day, i can still get sexually aroused whenever I think about my visits to the pissy smelling principals office for some hot licks with the wooden paddle! Please write about your experiences also,and let me know if you were one of the girls who peed in your panties at the office,and I know that there is some out there,for the office to always smell like wet pee every time I visited there in the 80's..So Please write and tell us others about it,..Thanks, Bob

I was paddled in 1976 and I never heard of a girl having to lift her skirt for the paddle! Maybe your school was extremely strict, or it is the exception to the rule. When I bent over they did all they could to keep my short skirt down so as not to show anything. Sorry to hear you got your pantihose whacked. Getting it while fully dressed was bad enough!

My daughter was given ISS for fighting a bully. Paddling had been abolished in our state by that time, or she probably would have gotten that. The principal was sympathetic, however, and explained that even though he knew my daughter had been in the right, since there was a no-fighting policy she had to get some form of punishment. But she did get a lighter sentence than the bully did. So I understand why you had to be paddled along with the other girl.

Capt1, you gave the most logical view point of how a paddling is supposed to be administered. And "if only" it was actually carried out that way, I would support corporal punishment. I saw a lot of it in school (in my day) and I think it was incorrectly done 9 out of 10 times. Paddling should cause some pain (that's the whole point of it) but it should NEVER have pychological effects, nor a sting that would last for more than ten minutes after the paddling occured.

I can’t speak for other persons out there but I had seen a few school paddling’s back in the Seventies / Eighties era and from my personal view when used correctly with out using Brute or Harsh force when using a paddle maybe effective on both male / female pupils<br />

I disagree with School teachers / administrators being allowed use a Paddle board’s that are nearly the size of College Fraternity Paddles to Use on Young Children and Teens below the age of 18, It’s a well known fact that these sized boards being used do and have caused injuries and or server bruising. <br />
<br />
since most paddler’s doing the paddling tend to raise the boards high above in the air to give the blow’s to the receiving persons.. This is when the paddle is actually is being used as a battering weapon.. And is no longer considered an instrument for punishment,.<br />
<br />
Since must Pubic / Private School Systems in the U.S. Have guide lines that on average restrict the size of the paddle boards on the average size of 18 to 22 inches long and about 3 to 4 inches wide with the thickness of the board from ½ to 5/8 thickness of the wood These boards should never be raised above ones head high in the air.. <br />

Since you are mandated to use this type of paddle.. The Board should only be raised up to either your Hip or Breast level or Preferably between your Hip and Breast levels,... never high in the air !,.... that can also effect your proper aiming to the receivers rear end to. <br />

The most Preferable Paddle to use that are least likely to Cause Bruising or an Injury would be to locate or have one of the Old Type Slivernear Paddles that had the Comments written on them,. Heat for the Seat , Fanny Whacker , Aditude Adjuster , Butt Buster, ETC,. These boards are best on both small children and teens also in the case of a Teen you can ratchet up the force of your Stokes if desired with out causing serious damage or bruising to the receivers rear end,.<br />

If your allowed to use this type of board do so,. If you can’t locate one then have one custom made using cedar wood or ash wood.. Have the paddle coated with lacquer and sealed using a smooth gloss finish this will help prevent the board from splintering during use.. <br />

the size can be from three to four inches wide and about 16 inches long.. Thickness will not be over 1/4 inches,. Stings like fire but doesn’t cause damage,.<br />

Positioning Student:<br />

First Option Positioning : Pupils that are to be paddled should be standing legs can be together or apart,. Arms Grabbing the back of rest top of a Chair this is the best Positioning since there buttocks will be in a natural relaxed state and are allowed to naturally flex and absorb the force being applied to them from the paddle,. Ask Student to look up straight forward , this will prevent a jerk of the neck and head .. ” Surprise from the paddles application “ <br />

Second Option Positioning would be to have the Pupil bend over a Desk Palms of there hands flat on the top of the Desk. Also have them towards either sides - corner’s of the desk depending which hand / arm you use. “ Right handed “ / “ Left handed. “ Ask Student to look up straight forward , this will prevent a jerk of the neck and head .. ” Surprise from the paddles application “ <br />

Fourth Option Positioning : Slightly leaning against a wall palms of hands flat on the wall,. Arms Positioned around the shoulder to upper torso level. <br />

Positioning Don’t’s: IMPORTANT ! Don’t bend over with hands holding down Towards either the Ankles or the Knees this isn’t very safe for the Student, and increases the risk and dangers of the Student being knocked over or falling down during the punishment,. Also not bent over a Desk with the lower body torso and chest laying up / pressed up against the desk top.. Desk / Counter top will dig into the person. Lets remember risk of injuries.<br />

Positioning of Administrator / Teacher “ Paddler “<br />

Paddler should be positioned standing to the side of the Pupil, not standing to the rear side or back of the Pupil ,. Paddler should have view the Pupils Sides and Rear End, Back, Shoulders , Back of head, and possible rear side view of pupils face, Your Paddling Arm should come to even position with the buttocks of the pupil,. <br />

This is important.. It effects how the paddle will land on the buttocks, you want the paddle to land evenly on both sides of the buttocks,. Since its been noted a lot of bruising is caused by uneven impacts from paddles,.<br />
So Check your positioning now..<br />

Safe Test of Application of the Paddle,.<br />
<br />
Take Aim raise the paddle up between your hip and Breast line height, Do a few practice swings, Board will come to a complete Soft Stop on the Rear End or Soft Tap landing on the buttocks,. <br />
<br />
You are preforming the last safety checks here before the real paddling is to begin, board should be making even contact,. Also you should observing for any adverse reaction from the pupil at this point,. If the Student was jumpy or had slightly Quivered, or made a slight under breath Grunt from the Practice Taps, Wait a bit for a few seconds raise the paddle back up and redo the Practice Swings again,. <br />
<br />
This is perfectly ok to preform the Soft Landing Taps since there shouldn’t be any pain at this point,. If the same thing happens again you might consider lowering the amount of force to use during the “ Real Paddling “ to a mild level,. Also ask Student if they are alright about doing this in a smooth tone of voice,. Remember and keep in mind Your not trying to inflict Serious Emotional TRAUMA here,. At this point the student may have a emotional brake down at this point, .. if this is the case the Paddling will not commence and an alternative options maybe considered.<br />

If no Adverse Reactions were Observed During the Practice Test Taps,,.. Then Proceed with the Application of the Paddle,.<br />

Application of the Paddle:<br />

all the above steps have been taken, Proper Positioning and Test and Aim has been Taken, Its Now time to proceed with the Punishment “ the is Paddling to begin “,.<br />
<br />
Announce To the Pupil the Amount of Stokes that will be given,. Tell them they are to remain still and keep there arms and hands clear and stay in position until He or She is told to stand up.. Or the last Stoke has been given,. Pupil is not to stay in position for a prolonged period of time after the last Stoke has been completed,. <br />
Start with the paddle rested once again on the buttocks then raise the paddle to the correct height then ask the Pupil if He or She is ready, Announce Are you Ready ?,. Pupil Will reply accordingly: Yes / Yeah ,.. This is the very last step before the paddles application ,. Once the YES is said.. Its GREEN LIGHTS TO GO ,. The Paddling will now Commence<br />

The Normal Reactions during the Application of the Stokes could be, a Yell of: Ouch , Yaouch , Ohoo, there maybe some slight crying and tears coming from the eyes, elevated breathing,. Maintain the application of the Stokes of Paddle,. If Pupil is hollering and screaming and crying excessively its acceptable to reduce the amount of force in the paddles application,. <br />
<br />
If the pupil states during the application of the stokes that they can’t take any more,. You are to state the punishment must be completed and the pupil has made there choice,. If this happens it is acceptable to stop the Paddling for a few moments / minutes , Its at your discretion to add or not to add additional Stokes inform the Pupil there will be additional Stokes,. Its also advisable to reduce the amount of force that is being used in the paddles application at this point too,. One or Two more Stokes added is ok,. . <br />

Completion of the Punishment,. Student is allowed to compose themselfs,. In no case are they to be allowed to return to class or allowed out in the halls Un- composed or appearing in the state of duress from the application of the paddling,. <br />
<br />
This is about as safe as you can effectively apply Corporal Punishment / Paddling of a Student that I can think of,. The above Steps might seem like a long process but once you’ve gotten in to the routine of doing the Above it should only take an additional 20 to 30 Seconds before the Application of the Punishment Starts. <br />

IF All of the Safeties above are in Place for the Students Well being.. And Or Emotional Well Being.. Remember Here.. There is a deference between a Spanking and a Battering.. And a Fine line between the both of them,. Spankings don’t cause TRAUMA.. But a Battering Will .
