Until We Meet Again And Thank You

I have been blessed to have both my paternal and maternal grandparents while growing up. I am proud to say both sets have lived into my adulthood. My grandparents were my balance as I grew up with unbalanced parents. When I was little I started to realize my family was different. Sure my parents were divorced, no biggie a lot of kids parents were divorced. But what I noticed was that my mother cared a lot more about her "party" life then she did about caring for me. She handed me off a lot to her mother (I called her Mimi). Mimi and I had a great bond. At 13 I moved in with mygrandparents because my mother had "other business" to attend to. I knew then I was blessed to have the opportunity to live with them. I was my Mimi's "precious girl" and I'm so thankful she was there for me all these years. Mimi was my best friend, I told her everything. She allowed me to be by her side and to feel loved. On April 20, 2012 Mimi lost the battle to the aweful disease of Parkinsons. I am glad she's not suffering anymore. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of her and have some type of flashback of a happy childhood memory she made possible for me. "Until we meet again Mimi - I love you so very much and thank you!!!"
