And If It's Not...

As a child I would hear this and think, "NO, it won't!  You don't understand _________" (filling in the blank with whatever apparent tragedy happened that day in my life).  I am older, much much older! haha, and hopefully a bit wiser.  I now understand this seemingly UNhelpful platitude.  I never forgot it and it has proven to help me through many situations I thought I would not live through.  These trying times in my life didn't always turn out to be a "blessing in disguise" or even turn out to be "okay".... but I learned it was NOT the end.

Another quote that has stood me in good stead is the following:

"Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect.  It means you've decided to look beyond the imperfections" ~ Anonymous

Both quotes by Anonymous and Unknown tell a story in just a few words.  It is clear that these unknown and anonymous people have lived and loved and lost in life....but they did not give up!  I have often wished I could shake their hands and say, "Thank you for all the encouragement.  You have blessed me with your words."

They have purposed in me to look beyond the imperfections of the world and its daily grind on my soul, to look beyond the imperfections of my life and choose to be happy, to look for the good in a situation or in the person I am talking to.

When I do this....then I know everything will be OKAY.

Thanks Trpr, so true. xo

I used to hate being told "it'll be okay" too .... until I met you and you made me see different. Thanks for posting this. You are right, the Unknowns and Anonymous writers are often the wisest and have the most profound effect on our lives.

your welcome :)

Aaww, LittleFerrett, thank you :)
