Growing up I've always competed with my dad when we watched Jeopardy together. Occasionally my brothers would chime in, even my mom. It eventually became a family thing. When jeopardy came on we would all (family of 8) compete. It was fun, testing our knowledge. My dad who seems to be a freaking genius would always win.

I'm sure many people probably wouldn't imagine a black family sitting around watching Jeopardy and definitely not competing and getting answers right. But intellect can be genetic and my dad is definitely one of the most intelligent people I know.

When I go home to visit we still compete. Sometimes I come pretty close to beating him but he's still the Champ.
