Iron Chef

There's nothing worse than starving on a airplane ride and watching the Food Channel. You're salivating over all the wonderful meals they're cooking because you know that you're hours and hours away from being close to a decent restaurant.
I am addicted to the excitement of Iron Chef. I watched the original version religiously. I loved the pomp and circumstance involved. It blew mind mind what the chefs created using all of the exotic ingredients they were given. I don't know if I will ever get to taste half of what they cooked in my lifetime. I was green with envy because of all of the top notch ingredients they stored in the pantry. The American version isn't as exciting but still watch it nevertheless.

I agree with you Mahal about starving on an airplane and then they start showing the food channel. Knowing you cannot have the variouos types of foods on the airline and you hours away from landing, plus what makes it worse is when you cannot sleep.....
I will be flying again soon and by the time I land at my destination, I am too tired to think about food.... -
The worse part is that I cannot sleep on an airline even when I have all the seats and the second is when you are hungry and you are not hungry for what they serve on the airline..... Especially on the 18-21 hour flighs.
Does this make sense.. -
I don't like the new version as it pales to the original. I used to watch this show when I lived in Tokyo before it came to N. America. I knew it was something special - and was highly successful in Japan too. It used to air Friday nights - prime time - a very prestigious spot --- what a great show.
I have a friend who did the voice over of one character in English - he was the guy who always checked on the floor and would say .... "Fuji-san ...etc.." - very cool.
