Far Too Much

For the longest time, I have kept the TV on as some background noise while I work or clean or whatever. I have gotten used to having it on. For the longest time, I even let my schedule be ruled by it, as I made sure I was home for my favorite show.

Thankfully the DVR has solved some of that. And since I have my shows recorded I can choose to only watch what I want, and not watch filler shows or channel surf trying to find something that I won't mind. And I've been watching a lot more on DVD, so I can chose what to watch and not worry about any commercials.

But I still have the TV on far too often.

I'm the exact opposite! The banality of the chatter on TV annoys me, and I often try to sit down and find something to watch, only to go round the entire channel guide and find nothing but drivel. And turn it off again. I wish they'd put better shows on. I often wonder what I'm paying for.
