...or At Least a Utilikilt.

A personal story in the experience: I Wear a Kilt
W hile my heritage allows me to wear the tartan of my Scottish clan ancestry, I've yet to purchase one.  I do own two Utilikilts, though; a black Mocker which I wear to work, and a tan Workman which I wear in the field.

I like the uniqueness of kilts.  I enjoy the reactions I get from people (, and the questions about what's under them!)  I like the look of them, the versatility.  They are cooler on hot summer days than are pants.  They're surprisingly warm in cool weather.  (Both of these facts surprised me until I realized there's a layer of trapped air between the fabric and skin that prevents the hot or chilled fabric from transmitting directly.  I suppose this is known to all women who wear skirts, but I hadn't realized it.)

On a recent drive to Oceanside, CA, I stopped at a Loch-Ness-Monster-themed roadside burger stand called Nessie Burgers. I wonder if your relatives are their suppliers!

Ah yes! One of my favorites, and always a crowd-pleaser at a Renaissance Faire! Wanna come up and see my blue silk ribbons? ;-)

I have four Utilikilts in addition to my tartans. Since I only wear kilts, the Utilikilts are great for yard work or any other situation where I don't want to worry about ruining a one of my plaids.
