And It's Awfully Messy Sometimes

i have been ridiculed for being over-emotional, I have been told i am crazy and to take my xanax.  well, i've met some pretty flat, emotionless people in my life, and i have to say that given the choice of being emo and not emo, i'd pick emo every time.  with me, people don't have to worry that they'll misinterpret my feelings because they are there as plain as day for all to see.  if that makes me a bad person, then so be it.

the only problem i have is that sometimes, my emotions and/or the ex<x>pression of them becomes twisted, tangled, mixed up. for instance, sometimes when i am hurt, instead of showing sadness, i show anger. in this way, i believe i am protecting my tender heart from overexposure, when in fact, it probably just pushes people away from me and leads them to misinterpret how i feel.

I can relate to this. When I am hurting it comes across that I am angry and instead of wanting people to stay away, I want someone to come and hug me. It's something I need to try and change.
