I Went On a Road Trip
2010 was a year of bitterness, shock and awe. Just beliefly... in Feb, my son came home from Iraq, his wife and their children disappeared,,never to be hear of again. The night my son came home from war, my farmhouse burnt to the ground. Days later my husband left me and my dad died. sigh... I survived ...
I sold my land, closed out the saving account, pleaded my husband to... run away with me.. Of course he did, a free road trip, cool.. i didn't want to be alone.. he was better than nothing/nobody.
I brought a truck, trailer to pull, with camping gear and everything i needed to make a road trip... I had no idea how long I was going to be ..bopping around.
I started out at Kentucky Lake, camped, zoned out in shock, looked around for artifacts. I even saw my first flying boat! They were speeding down a winding hill and saw me coming at them.. they jerked their wheel, boat slid of trailer...went flying into the treetops...landed in the top of a tree..lol.. too cool, fools.
Jumped up and went to Colorado, got a temp job, worked alitle and went to sites unknown. What a great place, the Rocky Mountains. The western folks are a strange, freewill, laid back kinda souls. Many different kind of folks from all around the world. No place I have seen can compare to the beauty of Colorado but one other state.
Oregon, omg, it is a land of wonder! From ocean to mountains to desertland. The folks there carry guns on their hips or strap around their chest...wild! I panned for gold, found some and silver. Picked wild berries, saw a big old black bear that was as scared as I was. I spent a month in Oregon, traveling everywhere. I began my healing in Oregon.
Then, I wanted more beauty, more adventure to come to me...or should I say.. I will go see.... I began my road trip back home down all the southern states, The plains. Lots of no mans land there. The trip back to Indiana I decided to stop over in my neck-of-the-woods. The Shawnee Forest, I have a friend that owns a cabin deep into the woods...Sounded like a good way to reenter life again. I started a cleaning business, moved to Indiana and continue... Living.
Without this trip, I would not be here today to...*smile* again! I recovered from great sorrow, pain that ...are only a whisper of a memory now.
