Like Old Times

I was engaged to a man for a few years and things just didn't work out. We broke up, moved apart & then tried dating again off & on for years. He now has a family, but we have lunch every now and then to catch up. It's so nice to see what a great father he is and to see him doing well and being happy.

The other night he called around 10 p.m. and asked if I'd meet him at the restaraunt we went to for our first date. I arrived and we had a great time talking, laughing, catching up & reminiscing. Then we re-enacted our entire first date again! We hopped the fence of the mini golf place and ran around like goofballs. We made out under the trees & stars & coudn't stop giggling. We ran from the security car,  bought a pack of smokes at the gas station near by & talked about what we wanted to be when we grow up :)

When it was way too late to stay up any longer, he drove me to my car and we hugged goodbye. We were able to be those silly young lovers again, for just one night. It was lovely. The best part? We'll always be friends and there will always be love between us. Not romantic love. Just LOVE. He has his family and neither one of us would do anything to jeopardize that. What we have is an awesome friendship that makes us want to build the other one up. I'm so glad we have remained in eachother's lives all these years!

Here's to lost love & found friendship!

Nope. He has a family. Meaning children. He is a single man. <br />
Thanks for playing.

it sounds like a great friendship, but why did you make out? If he has a family, that makes you the "other woman" doesnt it?

Beautiful story!
