Rothbury Festival

This past summer, I went to a Rothbury Music Festival.  It was the first time this particular festival had been put on, and being seventeen at the time, it was the first summer I was old enough to go to a festival.  Just let me say that it was the most amazing time of my life.  I went with about fifteen of my best friends from high school as a sort of good-bye trip, as the majority of us had just graduated and were headed off to college in the fall.  It was a difficult ride there.  I drove up with my boyfriend at the time and his little brother in a van.  We left about 10 PM from Toledo, driving up.  It should have been about a five hour drive, but there was a crazy thunderstorm, and we got lost, so we ended up driving all night.  We didn't get the chance to sleep, as we arrived at the festival around 7AM and set up our tent.  I couldn't have slept if I wanted to, due to the heat and just the sheer excitement in the air!  Let me tell you, it was like a paradise.  People were selling their wares everywhere, and music and good vibes filled the air.  When we arrived and were pulling in, out of the corner of my eye I saw my friend eating a bag of mushrooms.  That was only the start.  The next few days were pure craziness.  To make a long story short, I had a great *** time and saw a lot of good music, including: Dave Matthews Band (not a big fan, but I saw them), Widespread Panic (I had a rough time at this show, to say the least), John Mayer (again, not a huge fan), Phil Lesh and Friends <3, Trey Anastasio, Primus, Snoop Dogg, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Gov't Mule, STS9 (love love love), Keller Williams with MSD, Yonder Mountain String Band with Jon Fishman, Disco Biscuits, Medeski Martin and Wood, Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi Soul Stew Revival, Mike Gordon, Zappa Plays Zappa, Crystal Method, Steel Pulse, Lotus, Kyle Hollingsworth Band, Tea Leaf Green, Greensky Bluegrass, and Busdriver.  I missed a lot of good shows.  But I do have to say that I had the experiences of a lifetime.
