Are We There Yet?

I feel like a kid on a road trip, constantly asking: "Are we there yet?". When can I open my eyes and notice that: hey, it has finally begun: my great love story!
At the moment it seems that the author of this story is having a huge writer's block. It's like he's focusing on all the other things, like making the covers for the book and planning the publishing tour across the land and at the same time he's stuck on the first chapter, making endless little changes, like he's unable to decide where the story should go from here?
And then there's this main couple... At the moment, I'm not sure what to think about them. Are they for real? I mean come on, can't he write a story that wouldn't have so many cliches? Ugly duckling, handsome tormented soul, blood, tears, sweat, luxury, crimes, passion, separation.... sounds like the first chapter of the Barbara Cartland novel!
And he wants me, the most down to earth person on earth, to play this part? Ok, I'll do it, but he better get rid of that writer's block, I can't keep on waiting forever for my love story to really begin.
