I Will Never Vote Republican
The first time I was eligible to vote was in time for the election of 1980. Ronald Reagan was at the top of the ticket. The Republicans won and only now is this country beginning to recover from thirty plus years of shenanigans thanks to them. Remember Iran-Contra? How about the lies that led this country into those wars on Iraq and Iran? Deregulation drove many prices up leading to the casino economy and outsourcing well paying jobs overseas? Busting the PATCO union set a horrible precedent. I could go on.
The Republicans have never had anything to offer.
The average Republican voter in this very red state earns less than $25,000 a year. Many live in government subsidized housing, accept food aid and their children eat for free in school. Those confused people actually think the interests of the wealthy and themselves intersect. *snorts*
The Republicans have their own propaganda channel (Fox) and much of the press buys the Republican kool-aid by the tankerful. Their idea of "reporting" is reading a politician's or corporation's press release.
No wonder they want to put curbs on the internet. Some "Tea Party" (actually the Republican base) politician will have a town hall meeting and repeat something they believe and that society as a whole doesn't. An example is that "justifiable rape" comment made by Mr Akin when he was a Senatorial candidate from Missouri. They've learned that public town hall meetings are risky. Stupid statements are recorded on cell phones and those are usually uploaded to the internet before the speaker leaves the building. Then they try to claim that it was "taken out of context." Remember Governor Romney's 47% statement?
I vote Democratic most of the time. I vote Green too. Once I even voted for a La Raza candidate. I never have and never will vote for any Republican. They have nothing positive to offer those of us who aren't multimillionaires. The "Tea Party" would vote for a sock monkey so long as there is an R behind its name.
