Holding Out For a Hero

The force is with Obama, 'Star Wars' creator says

TOKYO (AFP) — George Lucas has created legendary film heroes like Luke Skywalker and Indiana Jones, but the US director says that in real life, his hero is Barack Obama.

Lucas was in Japan on Wednesday to promote his latest film, "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," as Obama clinched the Democratic Party's nomination for president.

"We have a hero in the making back in the United States today because we have a new candidate for president of the United States, Barack Obama," Lucas said when asked who his childhood heroes were.

Obama, "for all of us that have dreams and hope, is a hero," Lucas said.

Thank you Josie. I love that quote and that is the kind of discussion we are having here and something very similar has just been said to me.

I am very aware I am thinking emotionally and know very little about the candidates.

You are right I know .. it HAS to be about character.

I just hope (for the dreamer in me and others) that
Obama has the best character.

Tasmin, I find it highly likely that the romantic dreamer in you shall have her way tomorrow.

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. " ~ Martin Luther King

Elections should be based on the content of their character too.

I have to admit I do not know a lot about American politics and am obviously not in a position to vote.

But the romantic and the dreamer in me loves the idea of a black president of USA.
