Biden Strong On Foreign Policy

A personal story in the experience: I Will Vote In the 2008 Presidential Election
I was thrilled with Joe Biden's appearance on Face the Nation this morning.  He showed a command of foreign policy that has been seriously lacking!  His answers to tough questions regarding the current political situation in Pakistan were intelligent and  tough, without the harsh rhetoric that has goaded people like Iran's President into ramping up their rhetoric on the U.S.  He gives straight answers to questions without relying on platitudes to try to straddle the fence.  Unlike the Democratic Presidential Nominee in 2004, John Kerry, he is able to make his point quickly, and he is extremely consistent.  If you missed the interview with Bob Schieffer, and you are still looking for a candidate to support, I recommend locating this mornings' airing of Face the Nation on YouTube and watching it closely.  Here also is a link to Biden's biography:  http://biden.senate.gov/biography/  another link I just located also demonstrates why Biden is a great choice.  His ability to bridge the gap between Republican and Democrat which was demonstrated in the overwhelming 'yes' vote to the Biden/Brownback plan for Iraq....true bipartisanship is rare in Washington D.C. these days.

I'd love it if Biden and Hagel ran on the same ticket.  That would be something else!

I know. The electoral college is flawed and that can be really, really frustrating. I am also frustrated with the fact that we don't have a national primary. I think we need a constitutional amendment to rectify the situation.

You're so right. Most of the candidates are U.S. Senators, and most of them have missed a high percentage of votes because they are out campaigning. Most of them are very wealthy individuals. Joe Biden is one of the poorest candidates because he kept a campaign promise made years ago not to buy stocks in order to avoid the perception that he was in the pocket of big business. Our political system is indeed flawed, there is no doubt about it. I recently took part in a focus group with Stanford and PBS News Jim Leher that explored just the issues that we're talking about now. But, how do we fix it? We definitely need campaign finance reform, and we definitely need to educate and energize the population.

It's a very difficult, sticky situation. It's been quite a long time since I had a civics class and I believe that I'm a bit rusty in the nuts and bolts of the way the college works. All I know is that if I don't vote, I don't have a right to complain, and I like to complain about politics. Sometimes I think about going back to school and studying Constitutional Law.

Hey, now! lol I already told you I kind of like Paul. If you must know, he's my second choice. Did you know that Biden teaches Constitutional Law? Can't remember which University off the top of my head, but it's something else good for the country that he does. :)
