I Will Walk A Mile In Their Shoes, Its The Least I Could Do
"God forbid you ever had to walk a mile in her shoes, 'Cause then you really might know what it's like to have to choose..." -everlast
This has never run more true for me than it has these last 2 years. I do not judge, for who am I to blame someone for living their life, especially if I had not had the experience of walking in the other person's exact same shoes.
There is a choice for everyone, it is their right to choose. Choice isn't about one outcome or just a couple but it is about the possibility of all outcomes for any given person in any given situation.
However, the actions that I have trouble not judging are those that fail to walk a mile, let alone a step in another person's shoes. I find these actions disrespectful, cold-hearted, and ill-advised.
To those that fail to understand others and choose to judge:
Why can't you walk in their shoes for a day and see how it really feels to be them? Don't walk in their shoes with your beliefs, take what they believe and feel into consideration while on your walk. You will fail to understand anyone or their circumstance by taking your preconceived notions with you. It defeats the purpose, of such an exercise.
Take care everyone and thank you for reading.
