I Dont Believe In God

God does exist. Just like air you can't see it but it's there. All you have to do is pray and ask God to show himself to you. You can even feel his presence. It takes faith.

Faith is not blind. It is "the evident demonstration of realities though not beheld.” — Hebrews 11:1.

The sun, for example, appears to revolve around the earth— rising in the east, moving through the sky, and setting in the west. However, evidence from astronomy and mathematics reveals that the earth is not the center of the solar system. Once you become familiar with that evidence and accept it as true, you have faith that the earth revolves around the sun— despite what your eyes tell you. Your faith is not blind. On the contrary, it gives you the ability to see things as they really are, not merely as they seem to be.

As such, true faith is ba<x>sed on reason and evidence, not on mysteries and confusion. What evidence, then, can you use to build your faith? Everything you need to know about God and his purposes can be found in the instruction manual he left you - the Bible.

It's true, many maintain that the Bible is nothing more than a book of human wisdom. Some believe that it is historically inaccurate. Others claim that the Bible’s counsel is impractical or out-of-date.

However, oftentimes, those who question the reliability or usefulness of the Bible have not investigated the matter for themselves. They merely repeat what others say. However, the Bible warns: “Anyone inexperienced puts faith in every word, but the shrewd one considers his steps.” — Proverbs 14:15.

Instead of blindly accepting what others say, why not follow the example of the first-century Christians who lived in Beroea, in what is now northern Greece? They did not just accept what others told them. Rather, they had a reputation for “carefully examining the sc<x>riptures daily as to whether these things were so.” (Acts 17:11) Let us briefly consider two reasons why you can have confidence that the Bible is the inspired Word of God.

Over the years, skeptics have challenged— and continue to challenge— the Bible’s accuracy regarding the names of people and places it mentions. Time and again, though, evidence has proved the skepticism to be unfounded and the Bible record to be trustworthy.

For example, at one time scholars doubted the existence of Assyrian King Sargon, mentioned at Isaiah 20:1. However, in the 1840’s, archaeologists began unearthing the palace of this king. Now, Sargon is one of the best-known Assyrian kings.

Critics questioned the existence of Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor who ordered Jesus’death. (Matthew 27:1, 22-24) But in 1961 a stone bearing Pilate’s name and rank was discovered near the city of Caesarea in Israel.

Regarding the historical accuracy of the Bible, the October 25, 1999, issue of U.S.News & World Report said: “In extraordinary ways, modern archaeology has affirmed the historical core of the Old and New Testaments— corroborating key portions of the stories of Israel’s patriarchs, the Exodus, the Davidic monarchy, and the life and times of Jesus.” While faith in the Bible does not hinge on archaeological discoveries, such historical accuracy is what you would expect of a book inspired by God.

Long before the discovery of microorganisms and their role in spreading disease, the Bible recommended hygienic practices that are still relevant today. (Leviticus 11:32-40; Deuteronomy 23:12, 13) Family members who apply the Bible’s advice about how to treat one another are happier. (Ephesians 5:28– 6:4) A person who lives by Bible principles may become a more conscientious employee or a more reasonable employer. (Ephesians 4:28; 6:5-9) Applying Bible principles is beneficial for emotional health as well. (Proverbs 14:30; Ephesians 4:31, 32; Colossians 3:8-10) Such practical advice is what we would expect from our Creator.

The wisdom found in the Bible can make even an inexperienced person wise. (Psalm 19:7) In addition, once we gain confidence in the Bible, it can help us as no other book can in taking the next step toward having stronger faith.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding - Proverbs 3:5

I believed for many years that God was a myth. I struggled to believe in something I couldn't see with my own two eyes. But it wasn't until I honestly sought God, and prayed for many many months that He would help me to better understand and believe, that I found the truth I had been searching for. Don't give up, not yet anyway.

If there is God, why there is so many "religion" popping up? just study the bible and there you go! Somebody will emerge a new "sect" so to speak,.. and everyone is telling everybody that this is the true religion? How come? ....Just open up your mind folks....I am agnostic but not a member of any group.....

If you think the God of love has died long ago... you are gravely mistaken. God says He is love and love is Him. If you want evidence, I will share some. Take it how you see it but this is what I see... Do not over look this, cause this could be earth shattering perhaps mind blowing... for anyone who reads this carefully and understands it. This is an essay that I wrote a few years ago. How I am going to show you is simply this...

The Big Bang Challenged

The Atheistic Point of View:

Somewhere between 18 and 20 billion years ago (other sources say different) all of the matter in the universe was compressed into a tiny space no larger than a pixel on a page. This pixel spun faster and faster until it exploded, thus creating the Universe and everything in it.

The Christian Point of View:

"In the begining God created the heavens and the earth." Then it goes on to say: "Then God spoke, "Let there be light," and there was light. And He saw that it was good.

Now we have two points of views...

The Atheistic View:

Apparently this "explosion" is not what we have seen today. But I will argue with that, the definition of an explosion is this; a violent release of energy. The "explosion" being random does not give meaning to life... nor the power to give life.

The Christian View:

God spoke and it was created, meaning this act was not random but deliberate and pre-organized, planned in advance to happen. Having the power to give life, God gave purpose to life.

In an place without friction you would have this spinning "cosmic egg" or pixel going so fast it would then explode. If this happened, all of the particles being expelled from this "egg" would all have to spin in the same direction as the pixel/cosmic egg they exploded from. This is a known fundamental law of physics, which those who trust in Evolution cannot avoid this fact. It is known as the Law of conservation of angular momentum. An example of this would be venus or uranus. They spin opposite of how earth does.

If all the matter in the universe was compressed into a small "egg", what caused this to happen? Where did gravity come from that held it together? If this "egg" spun rapidly until it exploded, then where did the kinetic energy come from to start the spinning?

So apparently now we have this cosmic egg around us today, everything materialistic has a source of where it origionated, even us. You and I came from our parent's and our parent's came from their parent's. Is this correct? Yes it undoubtably is... Now let's look at a structure i.e the CN tower. It is located in Ontario, Canada. Truely a work of art and craftmanship! But how did it come about? Obviously, certain elements and people helped in the deliberate, the prepaired construction and completion of the CN tower to take place. It's not like the CN tower one day decided to building itself... That is simply impossible! Something had to there in advance to assist it in being planned and constructed to be where it is today. It is like me, trying to build myself from nothing... it just doesn't work like that!

So if this makes sense, then someone with an extreme high level of intelligence must have aided in the planned construction and continual completion of the universe. Nothing comes into existance with out being planned or having purpose. The view of the atheist says we were a random event without purpose. But I say that we are not random, but was planned to be here and have purpose!

So now we have another problem.. The big question, since something cannot come from nothing, where did God come from? Simple, if there was a time where nothing existed at all, then nothing would simply exist. But things do exist! God is litterly LOVE itself, there is good and evil as we all undoubtably know, love and evil. Evil has only the power to destroy, love only has the power to create. Love is the being that was there before all things.

Love is God and God is Love. 1 John 4:7,8 says this plainly. "7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."

God is the uncreated creator who spoke everything into being here. For he says "I am the alpha and omega, the first and the last, the begining and end." Revelation 22:13

A side note for people to understand why misery and suffering must happen...

Since adam and eve sinned, suffering and misery entered the world. This is NOT what God planned... If God is to remain fair He needs to give us the freedom of will. As a test for the human race, (adam and eve) He said "You may eat of any tree the the garden of eden, but you are forbidden to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. So here is why there is suffering. God trusted them in His friendship that they would not disobey His direct warning. What the bible defines sin as is "seperation" from God. Seperation from God causes suffering and misery. Because God is seen as the "Giver of Life" the source of life and all that exists. When you sin, you are seperating yourself from Him. The bible says, "For the wages of sin is death." Wages is something you work for. So the more times you seperate yourself, the more you are litterly saying you want death. Since the human race (man) is condemned to death by our disobedience to God's direct order, a breach in trust. We are all condemned to death, each one of us. So no matter how good you are or how bad, we all face the same fate... Death. BUT God so loved the world, that He gave us His only Son to pay the price of death for us so that we may live! He is litterly giving us a free gift, the free gift of eternal life. He has set this on our laps to either accept and open it and indulge. Or to say no and be faced with eternal seperation and suffering. God wants all of us to live and none to die, we have to make the decision. It's our choice... If you want more evidence, just ask me...

Hope I hav shed some light upon the evidence you are seeking and to anyone else that has read this! Peace and love to all. Cheers!

well,i wouldnt be against yur opinion cos yur entittled to them, but if yu and i look at it the way,i think we might come up with some kinda desc<x>ription of what God might be!

i lost people i love too, well nobody is dear than parents i guess,i woke up one day and my life is an empty, boring, sad yu name them!
But he who created me,he who is responsible for the mountains, rivers, trees, species and all things yu cannot describe must be very great,! dont yu think so? well i guess he the most intelligent, and i cant compare him to no man....i would say its creation, maybe thats your explanation for all this wonders but who was responsible to this creation then?

You claimed to grow wiser without relating to God,please explain to me the logic of all this wonders....by wonders i mean...mountains.rivers,oceans e.t.c.

Peter Kreeft - Lost in the Cosmos

The problem with most philosophers is that they try make questions such as "Does God Exist" as reasonable as possible, and forget that there has to be a EURIKA moment. In short their arguments might be persuasive but they are deadly dull.

If you want proof that God exists then good luck to you. Personally I'd be happy if there was some confirmation that He has a great sense of humour.

If you'd like to have a good giggle at yourself, ie what man's stupidity might look like from His prospective then Peter Kreeft pushes all the laughter buttons.

Faith is nice, but when one looks at the evidence, it's pretty obvious that the God in books isn't real. That being said, perhaps there is a real God. If so, I hope to find Him someday.

NOW THAT'S THE PROOF RIGHT SPOKEN!!!!!!!!! THERE IS NO GOD, IF GOD EXISTS WHY DOES HE ALLOW SUFFERING, O WAIT HE GRANTED US FREE WILL? BULL ****, THIS IS DELUSIONS MADE BY SAINTS

true love is religion(read above), to mediate maybe is a way to gather those energies(love) ,and maybe observing with no conflict is a way to give back that energy(love)to all human beings!?
religion(egyptian/greek) the gathering of all energies

Well, if you want, check out my site. If you want to know God is real, please check out my facts page.
www.thelivinggod.webs.com you can contact me if need be, and we can talk, tell me what u think. :) take care and God bless

so...if you ask your dad for something and he don't give it to you maybe because u say it in the wrong way or maybe you didn't work to get this thing..this mean your dad dosent exist?

I grew up an Atheist, but after spiritually awakening found god to be the very real intelligence guiding the unfolding of this universe. I just started a group reconciling God with evolution. I'd love to hear what you think of it.

What do you believe in then?

When i was a child i always pray to god... to give me knowledge,strength,courage.. but sad to say that he didnt gave me that... so i stop believing.. instead i believe in myself...then i became wiser and stronger even braver!! it's just that i wondered why everyone that i ever loved was taken away from me...and i believe it was GOD who took away everyone who was dear to me and turn them into nothing more than a memory... so i dont want to believe in god because if he really is true....i'll be against him... because he is so unfair....

Listen I know you think that its unfair but he didn't take them into just a memory he took them to live with him forever and ever and in time he will take you with him too forever. And the whole "You can never see god and he dosn't answer ur prayers and all that" thing is bull. He will surely guide you in your life. And all the people that you love that they took are not dead. They are more alive than they ever were and they will guide you in your life too.

everyone dies. The ******** and the good people. We just notice more when the good people die. I noticed that when jerk dies almost no one knows knows about it. And sometimes smart jerks are able to prolong their life and sometimes nice people die sooner because they're dumb. It's all just mainly chance, luck though mixed with talent that keeps us alive. That's what I believe.

The Bible says we are made in God's image so if you believe in yourself - I guess you believe in God - as life goes on our beliefs change with life experience. I was angry at God for many years. Then I decided that since I'm a part of God - I won't be angry with "Him/Her".

You statement does not make sense because not everybody believes what the bible says.
Believing in yourself does not necessarily that you have to believe in God just because a book says there is
such a thing. You can beieve in yourself because you are real and you know you are. But believing in some being that is not physcally tangible is a whole different thing.

The Bible says that the earth has been around for aproximatley 6 thousand years but scientists have proven it has been around much longer than that.
And this whole Idea. The Bible says.. the bible says... what if the Bible said that when a person turns 53 years old they should kill themselves > would you go out and do it? What is the Bible said that if you kill 5 people or more then you will get a special place in haven would you go out and kill people? I get so tired of people just believing and doing what a book says without putting it to the test or using common sense to decide what is right or wrong. In the Bible it says that Jesus said that anybody who believes in him will do what he did and greater things. OK then why dont we see Jesus believers walking on Water? How come we dont see Jesus believers doing miracles and so forth?

Some of the Bible is good solid principals of goodness to follow. Like to others as you would like others to do to you. and to love people and be compassionate.
but there is a whole lot of other stuff in the bible that is a bunch of baloney as well.

It sounds to me like you've just given up. You say there's no proof that God exists...Let me ask you a question...does the love exist? Prove it! The whole thing about God is he wants to see if we can believe in him without having to see him...it's called faith. It's a very important thing to have.

What I don't understand...is everyone seems to look at this the wrong way. I wish people could see all of this for what is really is. God is something I can't deny. I absolutely could not even say that there's not a God and have an ounce of belief in that statement. Even when my life was at it's worst I couldn't buy in to that. I think if people just tried...they'd know what I mean.

I don't believe god or love exists

If you dont mind me asking...you say you grew up in church, what is it that made you change your mind about God and say that he is just a myth?? I know a lot of times when people grew up in church and later in life chose a life a part from God, something majorly happened to make them change their mind. So i was just curious if there is anything that happened ? I would like to discuss this topic more with you, if you'd like to.

Me I do believe in God because he touched me a number of times in a real way. But I am extremely dissapointed in God. God should help people out and come to the aid of people who are being abused and so forth. but he doesnt. In fact it doesn't seem like he even cares about people at all and that really disapoints me. I wish he would get off his *** and do something for the world. Help some people out and put a stop to some of the evil in the world that is running rampant.
