Feel Disconnected

I don't have a lot of close friends. I wish I had more. I have a wife and a son who love me. I love them so much. I never had a lot of friends, but I had some great, close friends since high school. Two of them (including my best friend) are dead. Another I am estranged from. So that leaves me with one great friend and we live far apart. We talk on the phone, but it really isn't enough
Last week I went to a fundraiser for a friend who is a cancer survivor. The place was packed with the people in his life, all giving him money to cover medical bills and whatnot.. I thought "You know, if the same thing happened to me, I probably couldn't fill a broom closet, with friends, much less a restaurant." My fundraiser probably couldn't raise enough money to fill the gas tank of my car.
I want more close friends close by.

yep , i have the exact friend situation, one estranged friend near by, best friend 200 miles away
