True Friends Are Never Ending Friends : Far And Few Inbetween

I HAVE REALISED AS TIME HAS GONE BY AND FRIENDS HAVE COME AND GONE WHATS THE SINCE OF IT ALL SOMETIMES.

I WAS BROUGHT UP IN A DIFFERANT ERA OR PLANET I  GUESS. IT WAS FOR ME AS TIME WENT BY MOST OF MY FRIENDS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THERE FOR ME. THROUGH THICK AND THIN THATS WHAT TRUE FRIENDS DO FOR YOU AND YOU DO THE SAME FOR THEM.

AS THE YEARS HAVE ROLLED BY AND FRIENDS HAVE GONE THEIR OWN PATHS IT SEEMS NO ONE WANTS TO KEEP IN CONTACT ANYMORE.

I REMEMBER IN YOUNGER YEARS MOST PEOPLE DID STAY IN CONTACT AND WOULD TRY TO SEE EACH OTHER ON OCCASION.

WHAT HAS CHANGED IN SOCIETY AND THE TIMES NOW DAYS IS A GOOD QUESTION?

IT'S PROBABLY A NUMBER OF THINGS THAT HAVE CAUSED THIS TO HAPPEN. LIFE IT'S SELF HAS GOTTEN ROUGHER TO SURVIVE AND MONEY IS TIGHTER.  PEOPLE HAVE BEEN BURNED TO MANY TIMES IN SOCIETY TRYING TO HELP A FRIEND OR NEIGHBOR.

AND I TRULEY BELIEVE PEOPLE DON'T TRY TO HELP THEMSELVES ANYMORE. THEY EXPECT IT TO BE HANDED TO THEM LIKE THEY DESERVE IT ATTITUDE.  IF NOT THEY TAKE WHAT ISN'T THEIRS FOR THE TAKING. IT HAS BEEN A HARD REALITY TO VIEW ALL THE EVENTS HAPPENING AROUND US NOWDAYS.  FROM OUR PRESIDENT TO THE WAY THE GOVERMENT CONDUCTS ITSELF AND THE BANKS GIVING OUT PAY OUTS TO THEMSELVES.

IT'S A WONDER WE HAVE BUT ONE FRIEND IN LIFE,WHAT A HELL HOLE THIS EARTH HAS BECOME. BUT I STILL THINK THAT THERE ARE A FEW OF US LEFT TO TRY AND BE A FRIEND WITH SOMEONE WORTHY. ThE NEXT QUESTION IS ARE WE WILLING TO TAKE THE CHANCE? HAUNTED5

You were so right about being realistic. Yesterday, I had a shocking view of some reality here on the internet---There indeed are HELL holes on this planet---a lot of them...."sigh" I'm not sure if the world i grew up in--was a safer or better one --than the one I see now.....Perhaps I was just sheltered from seeing some of the horrors that existed then......hugs, gryf

I have two friends---we were close when we were young because we lived close---we still are connected --and occasionally we do visit each other...as time passes we have less in common and it doesn't really matter...we have over fifty years of memories that we share... When we were young two of us were pregnant at the same time...those two children actually got married on the same day....not to each other but hundreds of miles apart. They are both grandparents now. The three of us continue to care about each other...We are all great grandmothers now....Of course over time, we all have made many friends and acquaintances---the kind that come and go...some who were very dear--I lost track of and still miss them. Now is all we really have...the past is forever gone and the future has not arrived......For me, in this time and place: The world is definitely not a hell hole. It's a beautiful place, full of wonder...I've always told my kids, "NOW is the time to be happy." I heard that old song the other day, "For all we know, we may never meet again... another line from that song is, "Tomorrow may never come." I loved that song when I was young...it was good to hear it again---I'd completely forgotten it. I threw my TV in the dumpster a long time ago...What a relief to be rid of that thing... If I want news, there are many sources on the internet---I even know a website that has nothing but Good News on it--people you would never hear about on FOX or CNN---people of different cultures and beliefs --working on projects to make the world a better place....One of the interesting things about meeting people online---from each one's point of view--the world is a very different place.
