Aranya, you speak of the "what" in doing something, that is "sharing the good news" which is good. But I like to understand the "why", and over time I've seen it in the Bible. Please let me explain.

Everything God does in the Bible, when taken to its ultimate end and motivation, is "for the glory of God". Sometimes, God describes as it being for His "name's sake" or His reputation.

God has no deficiency; therefore, God never does anything to make up for any deficiency. Instead, absolutely everything that God does is to display God's sufficiency, which is infinite. God loves, enjoys, praises, and delights in the only thing/person in existence anywhere that is altogether perfect, unblemished, everlasting, unchanging . . . namely God. In other words, God is "God-centered".

God calls you and me (according to Genesis, we are created in the image of God) to also be God-centered. To love, enjoy, praise and delight in God's sufficiency. God wants us to be ultimately satisfied and in love with God. God designed us to be happy in Him.

But we sin, we "fall short of the glory of God" by finding our satisfaction not in the Creator-God but by getting our satisfaction from His created things. We belittle God by chasing after fleeting money and sex and entertainment and relaxation (all good things from the hand of the Creator). We pursue our own ideas of happiness and ignore God's teachings and warnings.

In our unbelief, we fail to trust Jesus in His promises. When we do not trust, it is just if we were to shout in Jesus' face "You are not trustworthy. I cannot trust you." If you'd like to discuss any of this, please let me know. Blessings to you, Steve

God's plan for all believers was stated by Christ. Go and preach the good news... when we stand before God will be have to explain what we did with our time and opportunities? Yep. He loves us - true. But He also said we had a purpose. So no matter what walk of life you are from, the underlying message or purpose is to spread the good news.

Yes, IA, there is an ultimate long-term plan which is entirely consistent with the teachings of the Bible, and a more-immediate step-by-step (day-in and day-out) plan as we fulfill the purpose of our existence. Let me know if you would like to discuss either or both of these. Blessings to you, Steve

I do.. :)
