"We should live our lives as though Christ was coming this afternoon." -Unknown
It is very easy to get caught up in the drama of our everyday lives and everyday problems and forget what is really important. I keep thinking about all the "stuff" we hold onto that is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things and I shudder to think of how many loved ones have died on this planet not realizing that it was their last day on Earth. If they knew they were going to die within 24 hours I wonder how many resentments would be laid to rest, how many broken relationships mended, how many fiercely tight hugs would be exchanged? What would you do with your last day? Would you cease worrying about how badly you wanted that car your neighbor has and worry about your salvation? Would you hug your defiant child and worry about their salvation? Would you finally let go of that childhood hurt that has crippled your life for years? What happens in this life is important, yes; but what happens in our eternal life is what is really important.
The only reason Christ is tarrying in His second coming is to give every one on this planet a chance to turn to Him. The bible very clearly states that the only way to the Father is thru the Son and our Father sincerely wants us to be with Him for eternity. Every person would do well to make Jesus their personal Savior sooner rather than later because we never know when it is OUR last day, our last chance. Please live like today was YOUR last day on Earth and not only value what is really important but make the best decision you ever made; the decision to spend eternity with the one who died to save you.
