President John F. Kennedy

I was raised in an environment that was pro Democratic Party. The late Sam Rayburn was my great Uncle. And John F. Kennedy was a President that embodied the ideals, passion, and compassion of the Party at that time. He had an image of a powerful America that could do great things. Not only did he believe in personal citizen responsibility (ask not what the country can do for you, but what you can do for your country), but smaller government and sound economic policy (Lower rates of taxation will stimulate economic activity and so raise the levels of personal and corporate income as to yield within a few years an increased – not a reduced – flow of revenues to the federal government").
If alive today, the Democratic Party would not embrace his ideals or his view of America.
If he had lived longer, we would not have had the Viet Nam Conflict, the country would have had many more years of economic growth.
