    re CC:

Again, I see that as a sort of overcompensation. Kind of like the discrimination against white people that happens nowadays. It doesn't make any of it right, but it seems to be an overcompensation for past unfairness.....yet, many fail to realize that this overcompensation is unfair too.

40 years of this crap is far too long to dismiss as "overcompensation" and "backlash." What is clearly intended is a permanent regime of misandry. I hope that a generation of men who are no longer willing to be browbeaten will arise. There are more women turning against misandry than previously, I think.

I never said I was "dismissing" it. I never said it's not a problem. Apparently, my experiences are quite different than what you've seen in your life.

Indeed. Have you ever thought about this : we live in a culture in which women are frequently told that they are goddesses, while men are frequently told that they are dogs, pigs, animals. A study was done that found that narcissism was dramatically increased over several decades ago, and the lion's share of the increase was among women.

The truth of the matter is in today's world the shortage is not of self-esteem but of regard for others.

I do see your point and agree that popular culture and social media does commit male sexism. For the last decade or 2 girl empowerment in our social media has been very prominent and unfortunately sometimes at the expense of boys.
I always believed though that boys and men already know how awesome they are due to centuries of male preference and historical significance. Even as adolescents it is the boys who appear to have much more self confidence than the girls.
At any rate perhaps I will write a similar story to empower young males. I do have an absolutely splendid son with which to share it.

Actually you get just as much disrespect, if not more, for women as you do for men. For years promiscuous men were referred to by positive words like stud, player, etc., while women were called negative things like ****, *****, floozy, tramp, etc. Men would often judge a woman on a scale of 1-10 while, women rarely ever did the same to men. Women have often been judged by their looks while men are a judged by their ability. As I have mentioned in other comments, sometimes there is a backlash after years of disregard and inequality. I think that the sexism that some men are now experiencing may be the backlash for the years of sexism that women experienced.

Ladyblue, the main people who call women sl*ts and tramps are other women. http://conceptualclarity.blogs.experienceproject.com/1052387.html. Did Tiger Woods and Bill Clinton have a grand time when their sexual ways were revealed? Hardly. The only people who talk admiringly of such men as "studs" are guys on barstools whose attitude is "Damn, too many women are keeping their knees together. I wish a lot more women were *****!"

Thank goodness for you! You go! Every girl needs to hear your message, the best message coming from a woman. Many men, like me, are doing their best to teach the girls as well. Thank you! mwlthw
