Human Lie Detector

My father is a war veteran, but his specialty was army intelligence. When prisoners of war were taken in for interrogation, he was the man behind the glass. Taking notes on the prisoners’ story, body language, and breathing pattern.

Those skills, added to the fact that I am the first born and my mother was a screw up makes my father ridiculously overprotective. I couldn't even lie to the man, just one glance and he would call me out. I am so tired of his interrogations and insinuations that I am always looking to do something wrong.

Holy Sh*t! I would...I mean, the WikiAngels would love that ;)

Huh? How curious. What do you mean?

Hmm...depends. The WikiAngels need to know what kind of cookies you intend to bring ;)

Yes, and you'll hear mine again as well :)

Nope. You got to do way more then just kiss up once. The WikiAngels demand a level of obedience that is above all else!

Yes, I'm sure we can :)

I don't think that's a good idea right now. I don't know exactly how my father is going to react once everything cools down. If we started talking on the phone, he'll definitely notice it on the bill, and I don't know what he'll do. My mom is positive that he'll call it, and God knows what will happen then. Let's just wait until I know what grounds I'm on...

Really? I had no clue. That's such an odd way to make music, but it works for them.

Damn straight ;)

:)

Great...

I didn't know that they used holograms. Very interesting :)

Yes. Now bow before me!

Well, I, don't know whether to be worried or not... I can't do anything about that so...

I'm glad your glad :)

The suspense is killing me :)

Yes, they are pretty interesting.

I cut and paste from Wikipedia :)

:)

That doesn't make me happy at all.

That's not a problem at all. Clingy isn't attractive.

I'm curious now...

You make tildes by typing Option+N.

Yes, they are pretty good. My favorite song is "Hong Kong" :)

I have family in Ponce and Añasco.

I find learning about life fascinating, but I don't care for seeing or being around the actual insects. I'm a lot more forgiving towards animals.

That's not good for my grandma's garden.

What do you mean by "me time," because I can think of a couple of meanings for that.
I'm very ticklish :)

Indeed :)

Completely off-topic, but the Gorillaz wrote a song called "Clint Eastwood" :)

It could be, but my family is not from the same part of Puerto Rico as yours so I wouldn't know :)

No. I like butterflies though, if it counts for anything :)

What a shame.

I suppose this is a good thing, because I'm used to being spoiled :) *blushing

248? Yes! I love working towards a goal.

Well it would be a shame if they weren't :)

Thank you. My grandma is wonderful. Mima is a adorable name as well. I've never heard of that term of endearment before.

Oh geez. It's huge and icky. I don't like it at all.

I understand.
My favorite weather is the summer rainy days, when the air smells of grass and the scenery looks especially lush :)

No, no that's not necessary. I can only take so many compliments. You're spoiling me :)
Yes, I am blushing :)
Do you know how many points do I have so far?

He could very well be :)

Kevin Bacon is... I don't know, but his last name is Bacon. How neat is that?!

What?! I didn't know that. "Weta" got her name from her first grand baby Chrissy who, as a child, could not pronounce "abuelita" She could only manage an sound that evolved into the name "Weta".

Wait- you're complaining about the weather in Miami?! Do you realize we only have about 2 months of good weather up here? Even those are subject to change violently in the drop of a head.
I have half a mind to smack you (I'm being completely sarcastic and over dramatic) :)

Beautiful? Wow. I think that's four times in two days. I like this. Thank you and "I'm very flattered" doesn't cover half of it.
That sums the ex<x>pression up all right. I was feeling kind of cheeky at the time :)

Drunk ones- they probably thought the screeching coming from the box was the office chair on vibrate :)

I love that poem :)

Wait. "Hollow Man" has Kevin Bacon in it. Kevin Bacon! I need to watch it, now!

You have a pool...I'm jealous again. Weta (my granny in Florida) has a vegetable garden as well.

By the way, I did upload another picture in an album named Izzy. It's not a body shot, but I'd thought you might want to take a look. It's the most recent photo of me.

Oh, I love that! "Instead of office chair packaged contained bobcat. Would not buy again." Yes, I imagine they would :)

You are absolutely right. But please, just one more...

“For I Have known them all already, know them all─
Have known the evenings, mornings, afternoons,
I have measured my life out in coffee spoons;
I know the voices dying with a dying fall
Beneath the music from a farther room.
So how should I presume?
Okay. I’m done :)

I read "The Hollow Men". Amazing. I haven't seen "Hollow Man" yet, I'm looking forward to the similarities :)
I’m glad. Thank you for understanding :)

My backyard is large with trees surrounding it. The wooden fence that encloses it is painted red and is fading and chipping with age. My backyard has a rustic charm. I hope so too. I’m getting so tired of not getting a good picture. I’m actually getting anxious.

Oh, I'm sure it will... :)

"That's stanza I recited in class! Although I find that I relate to this one much more.
No! I am not Prince Hamlet, nor was meant to be;
Am an attendant lord, one that will do
To swell a progress, start a scene or two,
Advise the prince; no doubt, an easy tool,
Deferential, glad to be of use,
Politic, cautious, and meticulous;
Full of high sentence, but a bit obtuse
At times, indeed, almost ridiculous--
Almost, at times, the Fool."

I haven't read the "The Hollow Men" yet.
To be completely honest, I did see the quote but you wrote the poet's name out entirely and I didn't realize it was T. S. Eliot until you mentioned it. I feel silly :)

I do :) My backyard seems like a pretty place as well :)

Yes!!! Sounds like a plan. I'll purchase "Poker for Dummies" on Amazon right now... :)

Definitely. They make you stop and think.

Truly? I read it in American Literature and it left a strong impression on me. I actually had to recite ten lines in front of the class for a quiz grade :)

I did take two pictures, both in my uniform. I hate them though. I actually put one up for a few minutes and decided to delete it. I'm sorry I'm so picky, but first impressions are everything... I want to look my best for you.

A teacher of mine told me that I have the best poker face he has ever seen on a student. It doesn't help me on the day to day basis though, my peers assume I'm angry all the time.

In a deranged way. What do you think ?

When I read the comics, a certain poem kept popping into my head: The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock by T.S. Eliot. I relate the listless and somber feeling of that poem to the comics. The feeling sparks creativity and inspires me to write. The photography also inspires me to work on my own portfolio.

Very true. I find annoyance is one of my regular emotions, along with nervousness :)

Wow. That's dark humor for you.

It may sound odd, I find those comics rather inspiring :)

That's a logical stance. I suppose there is no point in worrying.

I visited A Softer World. I finally understand your comment about its "succinct, almost deranged humor." Some of those were truly sad, like comic 13 for example. I must say though, I really appreciated Emily Horne's photography. The overall impression of the comics are wonderful.

I know! Sometimes I truly worry about the future of this country.

Yes, yes it is :)

Really now? That definitely appeals to my impatience :)

They actually debated about it? Well, I suppose the rules are in place for a reason...

I agree. What could be more important than the education of the future generation?

I’m sure they were, lest Mattel desired a riot :)

I will definitely check out asofterworld.com :)

Sharpie...what? Ha. Ha. I wish I could have seen the look on the victim’s face. Priceless :)

The school system sounds...unfortunate.

I didn't hear about Pregnant Barbie sans wedding ring. How scandalous!

Thank you for sharing, the web comics are very funny. My favorite so far is SUV :)

Sounds fun :)

I suppose I will :)

Public school teachers aren't loved in Florida? Why? What about Private school teachers? What state would you like to be a high school teacher in?

I'm afraid I will never understand the trend...
Oh! Back to the tramp stamps! Do you know that Mattel is coming out with a Tattoo Barbie? I saw a picture, and she had a tramp stamp of Ken's name inside a heart.

Yes, I thought it would speak to you :) Your forehead? Of course! How shameful...and brilliant :)

That's right. I'll show him!

It's always nice to have a fallback...

Oh, no...Tell me please, what did the general public do to deserve this?!

Or...perhaps you could be the victim of a wild night out.
A serious of unfortunate events could possibly drive you to the bottle, and the encouragement of bar buddies could lead you into a drunken stupor. After last call you could find yourself at a tattoo parlor along with your new "best friends in the entire world". Egging each other on to be a man and taking dares to get a tattoo to commemorate what you perceive then to be the best night of you life.... Next morning you wake up on your front lawn with a bitching headache and a tattoo on your foot that says: 2+2=FISH.

I'm just kidding. Please don't be offended.

Yeah, he'll probably turn pale and get really quiet...

Maybe, or you are just that good.

I concur. It's completely tacky and tasteless. It's the worst when large women have them, because I find they're the ones that show it off most often.

To each his own :)

Of course not :)

Not much, because he doesn't take me seriously when I say I'll do it. He knows how sensitive I am, and he's right. I'm such a peach. I bump into a wall and bruise. So the image of someone popping a steel bar into the cartilage of my ear is...unlikely. But I'm dead set on it. I'll do it...

No, no your very astute. Your bringing up points that I have and don't bother to share. Lightly-informed or not you've got it right.

Yeah well, I hate to judge someone before I know them but...they don't call it a tramp stamp for nothing! If you have one, you either are a tramp or want to be, which is just as bad.

I agree. Sad thing is, stars don't really have much personal meaning to me. I just like them.

Nope. No way that would fly with me :)

Of course, I think his stance is perfectly fair.

I find an industrial is just the perfect amount of edgy for me. I’m sure it has something to do with it. Sadly, I wouldn’t put it past her.

I find it refreshing and problematic. Simultaneously.

I agree. (I whole-heartily despise the tramp stamp. I know it’s wrong but I cannot bring myself to take anyone with a tramp stamp seriously) I was toying with the idea of a small dark blue star on the inside of my left ankle. Oh, she’s going to pay. That’s a given :)

Yeah, I guess :) If I get anything done, it should have some meaning to it. My Father would most likely explode with anger, which would be scary and a little funny. My father is only okay with creative ear piercings, so long as they can be taken out in professional settings. I actually plan to get an industrial ear piercing in the near future:)

My mother thinks that I need to be more spontaneous. She thinks I'm overly sheltered and conservative...which is completely untrue. Plus she believes that if we get a piercing/tattoo together it would be a good bonding experience (You probably have figured out by now that in this mother-daughter relationship, I'm the mother).
Apparently, my industrial piercing isn't edgy enough, so she wants me to get a tattoo on my ankle or shoulder blade.

jeez, i think our dad's must've been buddies,..,..though recently he's been getting better(:

You are completely right :)
Although I must say, my mother is putting interesting ideas into my head.
She really wants me to get a tattoo, but she'll settle for a piercing of some sort...navel preferably.

I'm going to sound so childish, but it's just not fair. I have never done anything rebellious in my life. Those unfortunate events were beyond my control, granted I suppose I could have handled them better. It doesn't help that my mother is extremely liberal. Now that my mother is slowly making her way back into the picture, she actually encourages rebellion.
I feel caught in between.

Oh, trust me I've tried. A series of unfortunate events with friends and extended family are not on my side in this situation.

Just a thought, but maybe you should interrogate him, and perhaps he will back off a bit!

I can't even stay after school without getting interrogated!

Must drive you crazy too.
