My Home Town
I live in a small southern town where when I go to work everyday I pass a general store where old men sit and have their coffee, where everybody knows everybody and nothing stays secret for very long and the textile industry thrives. I have moved away, got out so to speak and cried the day I left and was happy to return. It's home, small and relatively safe. We have no tomato shortage here because there plenty of stands on the side of the road during the summer. Wher there are parades for really no reason at all and our mayor runs the local pharmacy. I love my town, I love the people. I love being able to take a walk on a warm evening and having to bring nothing more than my house key. Walking past the big churches, the courthouse, the police station and the movie theatre past the library and the caf'es and then back toward home. Ahhhh home, I am home.
