I Wish That Everything Would Slow Down
Not that long ago, the earth was pretty quiet. We didn't move at fast speeds and jets didn't roar above us, constant traffic didn't destroy towns and villages and cities, leaving them gang-raped day after day after day.
Children could play in the street quite safely without fear of being struck and killed by a passing motorist, rushing to get from A-Z. We could hear the birds singing. We could see the stars, the Milky Way, the cosmos as the best-ever show from this magnificent planet we call home.
Work was slower paced. We lived by the seasons and were, certainly to a degree, living in a more harmonious and slower paced world.
We all know what it is like now. Politicians for the most part seem totally blind to the insanity of modern living. They - and most of us - are it seems, out-of-touch with reality and this creates ill-health in many different ways. None of the mainstream parties or their propaganda machine (BBC) that supports them in Britain have any clue it seems. They just talk about jobs, transport, tax, and all the other crap that upholds this sick version of a modern (parasitic) society.
It is hard to get off this crazy rollercoaster, village-destroyer, earth-raper, water-polluter. But we should be aiming, for our own health and that of others. It is possible to slow down and we can each find our own way of doing this. Simple things such as gardening, walking in nature, cycling, meditating, tai-chi, swimming, all help in changing us from the speed to the slow. Some will be repulsed by this idea of course, they want speed, adrenaline, cheap air-travel and internet shopping. I am not one of them as I aim for a slower way of living...
