Opportunities Lost

I look back now, and with the benefit of hindsight, I can think of 2 or 3 girls in my youth that were almost certainly asking the same question about me, but I was either too obtuse or too shy to know it, which was a shame because I had feelings for them too, and if I'd had the courage to act on them and risk looking foolish, my late teens and early twenties might have been a much less lonely and frustrating time... Now I would be able to pick up on the signals they were giving, but not back then!

So the lessons are 1, men can be a bit dumb, especially younger ones, and the signals you think you are giving loud and clear might well be going right over their head, rather than it being him not being into you, and 2, I know it's hard but don't be afraid to take a chance on putting your feelings out there every now & again, the rewards are worth the risk.

Opportunities lost, indeed... Its only too late that I realized its better to try and fail than never to have tried. If you don't try, you really do only have yourself to blame.
