I Wonder If My Looks Change People's Perception Of Me

ummm...just like the title says...whatevs...I get told that I'm pretty a lot...and I'm fine with it whatever...I take compliments and it's not like I think I'm some hideous monster...I'm okay with how I look...but I think other people think that because I look nice, then I'm super confident, have no trouble talking to guys or to anyone and that other people just automatically love me..hmmm not true...or on the flip side, they think I'm slutty and that I think I'm all that...not true again...rawr...I wish other people wouldn't judge other people...only in a perfect world

I totally know what you mean. I get alot of judgment passed on me on how I dress, which is usually ripped jeans and a tattered tee shirt. Its just what I do... I don't feel like material possessions make the person and it often makes me frustrated!

I hear ya. I don't understand why people do that....sometimes they'll even act like pretty people are unapproachable....Why is it that they're always automatically labeled *****, snobs, prissy, airheads, or untrustworthy? If people would stop being so insecure and jumping to assumptions, they could make new friendships soo much easier! We're all JUST people, every one of us. What's the big deal? lol

As people we're unique.<br />
<br />
I'm going to bring in a saying that's as old as the universe itself, "life is a box of chocolates".<br />
<br />
But I'm going to play on it.<br />
<br />
Our external skin, to illustrate the appearance people give, let's say white is someone that gives off an attractive and confident appearance like yourself, let's say dark brown is someone that comes off as deep, interesting and brooding by their appearance, and let's say medium brown is someone that looks plain.<br />
<br />
There are about 18 chocolates in this box. The contrast between skin and filling are all over the place. Say there are 6 white chocolates, 2 of them have a white filling, 2 have a dark brown filling, 2 have a medium brown filling etc, and the same with the skin of the 2 brown colours.<br />
<br />
So you would represent someone who was a white chocolate, but with a dark chocolate filling, for example.<br />
<br />
And, the important bit of my rambling analogy about chocolate lol, is that there's no way to tell what that filling is, unless you embrace that chocolate (like you would a person) and and discover what it's really like inside.<br />
<br />
If you judged that white chocolate as being white based on it's appearance, you'd never experience the exotic dark chocolate sensation underneith.<br />
<br />
When I saw you, I thought friendly, and a pleasure to be around, but I didn't get the popular cheerleader vibe, or anything like that. And you wanna know why I didn't? Because those types of personas are fake, but you seem like a truly "real" person, who's natural and just herself.<br />
<br />
Just because you're incredibly beautiful, doesn't mean people should make such assumptions about you, be they positive or negative, until they get to know the you inside. You have a gift, you should cherish it, and you don't have to be anything that isn't natural to you, or be made to feel that way.<br />
<br />
In a way, that contrast between your appearance and internal personality, makes you a more exotic person, just like that chocolate, once people have the honour of discovering it. :) x

Yes it is inevitable that all humans will be judged by other humans based on their apperances. Quantitativly speaking (yes I preformed the calculation) you are highly sexually attractive. This will lead to presumptions such as: you are a ****, you are great with guys, you are a b!tch, you are confident, you are unintelligent, you have more than you deserve, you would be fun to spend time with. These are just a few attributes people may assign to you upon seeing your apperance. Which attributes they assign will depend on the person assigning them. One must seek out those with little prejudice [like Strikerfreeze] if one wants to be viewed for who they are and not how they appear.
