    OneWithJC,

I do celebrate Christmas I just don't give presents since its not my birthday and have Santa clause stuff around etc. . And for Easter I celebrate as well but call it resurrection day. I have a bible study with family and have dinner together, But no Easter eggs and bunny rabbit stuff.

I was not raised this way either! My mom, dad and rest of the family gave us so many presents each year for Christmas I was spoiled and started to expect if for Christmas we were taught about Jesus and his birthday and I went to church every sunday, but it seemed the gifts was a major part of the holiday.

Also Easter was another story we would always have a new Easter dress on my sisters and I go to church and do crafts with Easter eggs and bunnies and have a Easter egg hunt and church and at a family members house sometimes several family members houses and I was taught about the resurrection of Jesus but the main focus again seemed to be on the Easter eggs and the bunny stuff.

What mainly changed my idea about the whole American traditions on theses holidays was when I researched the origins on both Christmas and Easter and was quit surprised especially with Easter. Christmas at least St. Nicholas was a real person but he should of never been the spotlight on Christmas like he is now over Jesus.

you stated I was taught things differently than you and a lot of people, not that there is anything wrong with the way you believe or serve the Lord, your God.

What were you taught you never went into detail?

I was taught things differently than you and a lot of people, not that there is anything wrong with the way you believe or serve the Lord, your God. Many people do not celebrate Christmas for whatever (I say so respectful of their beliefs) and that is ok but I do celebrate Christmas because regardless of what anyone makes it about, they can not change the Truth of what it really is about, to me. God knows my heart and just like those who believe otherwise, as long as we are True to Him and His Word/Will for us, that is what matters. I can only speak for myself though. I am merely expressing that I do believe in celebrating Easter because it is done unto Jesus Christ, in my heart.
