I Wore Shoes Once

I was raised in the Catholic church and attended the Catholic primary school. This meant that  attended a mass three times in the week, and on Sundays. That was in "normal times" and did not include lent or special festivals. Then we went every day. Also, we received cathechism (religious instruction) lessons every school day for seven years.

The school was run by nuns with a few regular folk in between. None of these nuns was a Whoopee Goldberg.

I was taught that almost all the nice things in life was wrong - nay, evil. Sex and sensuality came from the devil.

Well, let me say this. BS.

My God created all things big and small.

He made grapes - we made grape juice and wines and spirits.

He made intelligence. We made guns and bombs and xray machines and MRI machines.

HE MADE SEX. HE MADE SENSUALITY. HE MADE PHEROMONES. And HE saw that it was good, and HE rested.

He made Adam and when he saw that it was not good for Adam to be alone He made Eve to be Adam's partner and mate (read lover). He made one with a Penis and one with a Vagina and the two fit precisely and beautifully together. He made Pheromones so that we could trigger each other with "chemistry" and spark that physical interest. AND HE SAW THAT IT WAS GOOD AND HE RESTED.

St Francis said " i have come to .......... tell blind people that they can see, to set all prisoners free. .........."

I thank you Lord. I love my sensuality and my sexuality. It brings me no shame because I know that it comes from You. As You have said to St Paul, or was that St Peter, "Who are you, man, to call unclean what I have created clean".

May these words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to Your ears.

So I say " I once wore shoes"

Thank you miss May. <br />
<br />
This is the first piece that I submitted here.<br />
<br />
Hopefully, I am divinely inspired with this.

Great post, Bcj. I think some church people should read it, perhaps they would learn something. That's strange - most nuns and priests are the same everywhere. The question is why? What makes them think that sex, sensuality and pheromones are evil? Or perhaps they don't think like this but just say such things because they think this is something they are supposed to say being who they are? I don't know...Anyway; great post. Food for thought.

Mission Accomplished ;-)

Big Sis, I am soooo ultra-conservative, it's just not funny.<br />
<br />
I will walk around naked when alone or with my lady present, but not on a nudist colony or beach.<br />
<br />
I can watch adult movies with my lady if it is her fancy.<br />
<br />
I find the female nude form to be wonderful, 'smarvelous, etc. I find the female clothed form (in the right outfit) to be even more sexy than the nude form sometimes.<br />
<br />
love

hehehehe<br />
<br />
No , no......... Erase that video from your memory.<br />
<br />
And I definitely do not want to talk about any man's penis.<br />
<br />
Lordy, no.........

Yes, this was your first story and when you wrote it I didn't know you very well yet! I had to give it some time to make sure you weren't one of those guys who just want to talk about sex and penises! hehe<br />
<br />
Now I know you are a gentleman who happens to be naked all summer!!! <br />
<br />
All I can picture is that video about the lion's walk! hahahahahaha..............

Hey big Sis.<br />
<br />
Took you 2 years to comment on this one.<br />
<br />
In summer, I am the naked Saint.<br />
<br />
hahahaaa

The Barefoot Saint!

Oh but I am a Saint!!!!!!!!!!!<br />
<br />
See, my grandfather lived on St Helena Island and my father was born there. All her inhabitants and their descendents are known as "Saints".<br />
<br />
hehehe

Great post, thanks for sharing

as i said earlier - wise beyond your years you are.<br />

Too true. God doesn't abhor sex or sensuality - to say or preach such thing is simply ignorant.<br />
<br />
God creates and declares all good. We should all agree :)

bennu. <br />
<br />
meeting people etc. - what i do is, i say to myself, "my God created all of them, Christ looked across the multitudes and said - These are my brother and sisters."<br />
<br />
that makes the playing field level. i can leave my prejudice outside the meeting place. i can see all as equal, no matter what his station is in society, he is my equal and i am not superior to him nor inferior to him. <br />
<br />
if he is not comfortable with that then our paths will likely never meet again. <br />
<br />
read him=him/her<br />
<br />
cheers

thanks Bennu. i shall always be a roman catholic even though i dont remember the "hail mary". there are wonderful values and lesson that i learnt from them and these walk with me forever. <br />
<br />
i used the sensuality/sexuality topic because it was such a massive taboo with the leaders. i guess that we could find 5 more such topics.<br />
<br />
eg. the wedding ceremony or vows used in the liturgy are not written in OT or NT. the first wedding was of course, that of adam and eve. one other is that of Jacob - Israel to Leah (is it) and Sarah. man took wife, went off into the sunset, bought got a piece of land etc. <br />
<br />
the big wedding ceremonies and feasts came from the "pagan" kings and rich men.<br />
<br />
Today, it is sad to see, poor folk spend fortunes on these events, only to have to repay the bank loan for the next 5 or so years. <br />
<br />
this festival/feast/party is not the true spirit of a marriage from the teachings. it is so much more and is still blessed when it has much humbler beginnings.<br />
<br />
i could rant on but let's not<br />
<br />
thank for the comment and sharing.<br />

I was raised Roman Catholic as well though I am not any longer the guilt stayed. Gradually I am working on freeing myself as well, daring to become me totally. In a way it's a relief but also hard because it's like a new beginning where the filter to meet people easily through compliance is not there anymore. Still, the ones you do eventually befriend might be more real.<br />
<br />
thank you for your story, it touched me.

db08. - the reference for me was similar to being someplace where I have to wear step-outs (fancy, tight fitting leather shoes) and then remembering the feeling of relief, total freedom and absolute bliss of being barefoot all day, better yet, on a beach with the sand between my toes.<br />
<br />
I was juxtaposing the constraint of practised catholicism against the liberation gained when the spirit of the faith is with one.<br />
<br />
hope this helps.<br />
<br />
the leader from ep just gave us licence to write about anything.<br />
<br />
thanks<br />

I really like this post, I agree with you about the religious viewpoint vs. God's creation. I don't see what it has to do with shoes, but I love it none the less. :) Thank you for posting. So intelligent and well written.
