Has Anyone Saved To Buy A Car While Working Retail?

Is this even possible? I'm interviewing tomorrow for a possible full-time retail job (probably under 9 dollars an hour) and my car isn't in the greatest shape. Anyway, is there anyone out there that has been able to save up to buy a car while working retail?

If you're getting paid under $9- an hour, that's kinda illegal. I'm not sure what country you're from, so it might differ, but I'd find out what the minimum wage is supposed to be.
In terms of saving up to buy a car whilst working retail, I did it. But it all depends on you. I had to stop spending on everything that I found that was "awesome", cut down on socializing as much as I used to, cut down on the amount of take away I ate, looked at other ways of earning money (doing more than one job), and basically cut everything down to what is necessary for me to have, and what is it that I just desire: or in other words, "needs" vs "wants".
So do you tend to impulse buy heaps? Are you looking at a very expensive car to buy? Do you need to be more realistic about what kind of car you can afford to buy on that wage? Do you have a lot of other things that take priority over this car? You can always save to buy something if its truly important to you and you make it a priority!
