Pros & Cons

There are some advantages to working at night. The traffic to and from work is not as heavy. You don't have to take time off from work to keep doctors' appointments. You can easily get to the bank and the courthouse during the hours that they are open. You get to watch your favorite TV shows that come on during the day. You and your friends can go to fun events during the day. You can usually make it to most any family lunch or dinner. You have the option of going to sleep when you first get home or later in the day. And if you do manage to fall asleep during the early part of the day, you don't have to set an alarm clock. You don't have to worry about getting sunburned. You don't have to own a pair of sunglasses.

On the other hand, you do have to own really dark curtains to hang in your bedroom. And during the days when you have a lot planned, you wind up going to work with very little or no sleep. And when you get really tired then you have to stay at home while your family goes out and does something fun without you. You don't get to sleep with your spouse. And when your family decides to watch an evening movie on TV you only get to watch part of it before you have to get up and get ready to go to work. You don't have a routine because you sleep whenever you can. And on your nights off you have to be quiet in whatever you do  because the rest of the household is asleep.

But overall, I think the pros outweigh the cons. I really kinda like working nights for now.

I also work nights but three 12 hour shifts. So then on the days off.... I waste it sleeping so its like working both days anyway.

I could work nights now and then but it does put you on a different schedule from that special someone so it would depend what else is going on.<br />

And you have to be okay without having a lot of people to talk to.
