I Would Like Advice

So, I started a new exercise routine last month that consisted of:

Mon- strength

Tues-cardio

Wed-strength

Thurs- rest

Fri- strength

Sat- cardio

Sun- rest

I did notice an improvement in my muscle tone, but now I want to avoid the plateau effect by switching things up so now I'm doing:

Mon- cardio & strength

Tues- rest

Wed- cardio & strength

Thurs- rest

Fri- cardio & strength

Sat- rest

Sun- cardio & strength

Now these workouts are an hour long and they are significantly harder than what I was doing before- which is good. My question is, since my goal is to loose weight and gain lean muscle, will this new routine help me to burn more calories per workout? Is is correct to do cardio before strength or does it even matter at all? I don't feel sore after my workouts anymore, so is it really necessary to take 3  rest days?

Always do cardio after strengh training
