For 12 years I ran a Day Care Home. I loved kids and worked with them for years. But two tragic life experiences would change that for me. The first one is my Dad got real sick and us kids needed to be there to help my mom as my dad didn't want to die in a hospital. So I shut down my day care home and helped with my dad. I am so glad I did this as I got allot closer I feel to them both. After dad passed away I got real depressed and didn't go back to work. During this low point in my life my Nephew (threw marriage) was in a bad accident and lost his girl friend and was hurt real bad. I went with my brother in-law one time in the beginning and I could stand to see my Nephew like that! It hurt me inside to see him like that. So I waited till they moved him to the rehabilitation center before going again to see him and this trip went well and he was talking and stuff but he wasn't the same. (He had head trauma) But I went as often as I could while he was there. When it was time for him to come home they needed "Aids" to help. I never even considered working with the disabled....... even I had all my clearances and had already worked with the disabled with my dad. The only difference was My nephew asked me to be one of his Aids. So that's how it all started for me. Allot has changed since my Carrier as an Aid began but that's not for this story.

Posted Sep 26th, 2009 at 11:16PM I used to live in Franklin. There are many wonderful folks there. Oil City is another good place. There are also a lot of people that pretend to be your friend, only to find out later that they had different motives altogether. Hold on to your dreams, hon and don't let anybody talk you into doing something that isn't beneficial to you. Stay strong. Hugs to ya'll & God Bless. | |
