My Daughter Is Elle,

she's my all
she's all i have
i can give up everything for her..
i can give up my work just to make sure that she'll have breakfast in the morning, lunch in the noon, and dinner in the night..

she's now 8... and 2 months from now she'll be 9...
she really loves playing... she loves interacting with other kids...

sometimes... because i fear that something will cause harm on her..
i prevent her from playing with her friends inside their houses...
i just have that need to see her while she's playing with other kids...

one time, it was past 7 pm .. Elle and her cousin Jan... was out of sight...
I freaked out... i thought that something happened to her.. and then she came... together with her friend.. telling me... "Mama, we're just enjoying the new playground"..

I just said... "Just don't do it again... you should have told us before going into places..."

but she's a child... she must enjoy her youth...

Very true, I have a daughter that is about to be 8 yrs. old in January, I am very over protective, but the thing is you can never be too safe... Especially now a days... It's a lot different than from the 1980's lol

Love holds no bounds for a Mothers Love.

You are right to be worried...there is a fine line between over-protecting and allowing our vulnerable ones their independance. I think that if you relax too much while trying to let them be free to be kids and something terrible happens, you will never forgive your-self. I would rather err on the side of caution and dole out the freedom as they mature enough to handle it. You sound like an excellent parent.

:) maybe a scared parent ... the world outside is a dangerous place.. and life sometimes is so effin unfair to some.. but it is still a beautiful life... i have a mixture of happy and the opposite .. when i was a child... i just have the need to see Elle enjoy her youth.. and enjoy being a child with generous but cautious freedom...
