Not As Easy As It Looks.

L ast September I joined a Bellydancing class. My girlfriend was part of the classes and they were looking to teach guys to dance.The goal was to dance on stage for charity.

At first I was quite umcomfortable being there. I was the only guy. But as each week came I enjoyed it more and more. I actually forgot that I was only learning for charity. Gradually I fell in love with it. I wanted to learn more. I worked on the Mini Drum Solo. It was hard at first but I found myself even practicing at home. My girlfriend helped a lot. She taught me everything she could.

The night of the show I was told that I may not be able to attend the classes again afterwards because the goal was to teach a guy to dance for the show and that was all. I felt disappointed but I understood that because it was a class for women. They might feel uncomfortable with a guy in the class the whole time. So that was a pretty good reason for me to leave.

I have so much respect for anyone who bellydances. It's pretty hard. I know when performing in a show they give it their all. It's not as easy as it looks.
