I Would Much Rather Be Single Than Unhappily Married

I Mean The Whole Point ...

I mean, the whole point of marriage and commitment seems to me to be happier and have a fuller life than before, when single. What's the point of staying in  an unhappy marriage? I think it's oppressive and wrong, and I certainly wouldn't want to be in one. In such cases, if all else fails, surely it must be better to part, as amicably as possible.

    I see a lot of times where kids seem to be the issue a lot of folks stay together for. I don't have them so I can't say if it's the right or wrong thing.... but I personally would rather be alone then with the wrong person too....

      I understand the whole children thing, and personally I'd like to feel that if I were in a relationship I would want to be quite thoughtful in planning a family with my partner, and if it didn't seem like something we could do well, not do it at all.
