Memory Box

It used to belong to my aunt, who if she was still alive today would be well into her 90’s. It’s a small wooden box with a brass latch that I have accumulated keepsakes in; old coins (plus a two pound coin from UK because it looks like treasure chest money!), clippings, the card from the hospital nursery from when I was born, prehistoric sharks teeth found on a beach in Florida, marbles, a guitar pick from Tommy Shaw (Styx), a button my nephew made for me when he was a small child, the first pair of 3D glasses I ever wore, an autograph from someone I can’t remember (can’t decipher the signature, am hoping to just remember some day), a dollar bill with six 9’s on it from my liar’s poker days., a skeleton bone key from the first house I lived in as an adult, old bottle top opener that used to double as a carburizer adjuster…, it is nice to go through them every once in a while.

I used to love it. Used to play with the regulars when I was tending bar. I would take the winnings and buy them all a round.

Lair's poker, I haven't played that in a long time.
