No Apologies For Being True To Myself

I will defend everything that I hold sacred.

I have hidden nothing from my friends.

You should be neither dismayed nor disturbed if and when you find me standing up for my beliefs and values.

If you know me well, you will know that I am a controversialist. My style is confronting. I don't expect everyone to agree with me, either, and normally I am not provoking. But by Jove, I will stand up for what I believe in and defend it when under attack.

And although my friends with different beliefs and values might not like it, I will never, ever, respect persons above the truth.

Yes, I know there are different points of view and normally that is not a problem. But, though my friends are very dear to me, I will not remain silent when important values are under attack, even if I know you disagree.

And the benefit of that to you my friends is, if you come under attack then I will defend you, too.

Thank you, Dex, for being able to appreciate that about me.

If there is one element in your writing that shines brighter than the others, perseverer, it is your *integrity* -your belief that You have a right to be where you are, doing what you are doing and saying what you need to say. More power to your pen!

Thank you for saying so, grantmepeace. I totally agree. There are Christians who argue for passivity and silence in the face of attacks. In the life of Jesus we see three types of response. First there is silence as with Herod. Second there is dialogue, as with Pontius Pilate. And third, there is strong rebuttal, as with the Scribes and Pharisees. I think when people want Christians to be silent when under attack it is so that they themselves do not have to be subjected to discomfort.

I am paraphrasing here, because I am just too lazy to go and look up the precise quote, but I have heard that evil happens when good people stand by and don't do anything about it. So if you choose to fight for what you believe is right, at least you aren't just standing by and watching evil be done.

I would be honoured to. Thanks, friend!

You can stand in my corner ANYTIME....B

Many thanks, Solia, my dear friend.

I have never been shocked or dismayed by you. Maybe because I'm a bit of a controversialist myself! Love to you Perseverer!
