I Write Poems
Has anyone ever told you that you have a stone face?
Don’t mean expressionless,
You’ve just got one face
You don’t change.
Just locked in time, hung up over old wounds
Has anyone ever told you?
You can’t thaw stone-it breaks
Romantic words won’t fix this
Your heart is stone
Never moving or forgiving, high on feeling the pain
Has anyone ever told you?
You’re stubborn, bitchy, and slutty
You might have been someone’s princess
Not anymore
Statuesque, another piece over another man’s mantel
Haven’t you noticed?
Everything is wrong to you
Why do you expect me to fix you
Fix yourself
Then we’ll talk, when you can be a person again.
Don’t mean ex
You’ve just got one face
You don’t change.
Just locked in time, hung up over old wounds
Has anyone ever told you?
You can’t thaw stone-it breaks
Romantic words won’t fix this
Your heart is stone
Never moving or forgiving, high on feeling the pain
Has anyone ever told you?
You’re stubborn, bitchy, and slutty
You might have been someone’s princess
Not anymore
Statuesque, another piece over another man’s mantel
Haven’t you noticed?
Everything is wrong to you
Why do you expect me to fix you
Fix yourself
Then we’ll talk, when you can be a person again.
