Myth And Magic - The Journey

Inside a land of Myth and Magic
In a place where skies were gray
the Darklord came unto me,
and these words he had to say


"Take this orb of power, child.
Use it as you like.
Spread the creeping darkness
all across the light"


I stared at him uneasily,
with a slowly out stretched hand.
Temptation wreaking havoc.
His eyes filled with demand.


But then the clouds slightly parted
to show a clear blue space
and light was shining from it
directly down upon my face


The shining light did save me
from that temptation of the orb.
It struck me like a lightning bolt.
Which my soul could reabsorb.


The skies were filled with storm clouds
and sunshine ever brilliant
It was a war between the two
for a soul that seemed so resilient


The Darklord on my left side
and that Angel upon my right
The rays of golden sunshine,
and the ever constant blight.



And I stood within the center of them
feeling so much like a pawn
a choice lay there in front of me
The darkest night or...,clear blue dawns.


Each held words of promise
more tempting than the last
my mind; It reeled in confusion
as all the many years did pass



I walked for a crooked lifetime
never knowing where I was
I swayed from side to side throughout
as each pointed to percieved flaws.


I stumbled and I swayed,
back and forth across that line.
The one they drew upon the paths I chose.
The mountains of my life, I tried climb.


And as I reached the point of apex,
the pinaccle of all I'd been,
I turned and found that it was long ago
that I had actually chosen.


So when it all was over,
and I realized who I had become,
and as I looked upon the sky,
and saw the brilliant sun....,


To see it all in just a flash
My whole life on display
replayed to my mind's inner eye
and my soul on judgement day


Seeing all those friends of mine
who once touched my forlorn soul
Forging from my misery
A truer heart of gold


Helping out along the way
keeping me within their love
Grateful feelings flooding me
knowing I was not so worthy of


And in the land of Myth and Magic
In a place where skies were blue
I found my inner tapestry
was painted by all of you.
