I Never Thought I'd Have to Let You Go

I never thought I'd have to let you go,

It took so long to find you

and in that finding was:

Life's promise to meet my match,

But, here's the catch,

I destroy you everyday we are together

And, more when we are apart,

So, cloaking myself in pain,

Covering my skin in thorns,

Which tear Me, at you every touch,

I drive you away,

Taking strength from the ache of watching you escape,

Using my own hurt - to make you go.

This poem,

You will never read

And finally, has an end,

With me the King of Hell, and you,

Forever free
