dads poison

i am hiding my tears,
the days pass as i watch him drink away,
i see the poison fill his soul,
he finishes his last drop,
the anger fills his soul,
stale breathe as his words fill the air,
i close my eyes and wish just one day he will stop,
i beg and pray that it will end,
sitting alone in the crisp cold,
the fog falls as he drinks more,
the pain of watching someone slowly die,
he continues night and day,
maybe one time he will put the drink away.
