Its Been Awhile Since I've Wrote Any Poetry, This Awful Tragedy Continues To Replay In My Head So I Wrote This. Its Titled Sandy Brook

What is more beautiful,
Than a child’s smile?
So innocent, so sweet
Like sugar in a pile.

Many ask who, or
Many ask why?
So many questions like,
Why did they have to die?

Their smiles, their love
Taken so soon.
Always smiling so brightly,
Like a day in June.

How can we go on?
Knowing evil is out there.
We must turn to our neighbor,
In this time of despair.

Parents, hug your children,
Kiss them for no reason.
Make sure they know you love them,
This holiday season.

How will you remember?
Try and forget it, like a black eye.
Or will you do as me and remember it as a day,
That 20 sets of small wings ascended to the sky.
