I Write Poetry
They danced together,
Separately,
And alone,
While the band wept.
She had herself a man,
He was a bit of a mess,
An' her man, that son-of-a *****,
He done let her down.
They danced together,
Separately,
And alone,
While the band slept.
With his eyes cast downwards,
Confession is said - good for the soul,
His love was crushed, she was gone
Pain and agony an' One was lost.
They danced together,
Separately,
And alone,
While the band crept.
Forgiveness and redemption,
It's a wish and a dream,
He knows here's a long road ahead,
For that solitary man.
They will dance together
Not separately,
Or alone,
While the band plays on.
